Hi, all. Sorry for the two emails in one day but I omitted the name of the artist who drew the cartoon at the top of this morning’s email. It was Barry Blitt for the New Yorker (the whole set of drawings is great—check them out!) Thank you to the reader—another New Yorker cartoonist—who rightfully called me out for not crediting him. I’m married to an artist, too! I should know better!
You’re very kind. After all these phone calls we made and letters written begging for a consensus candidate, we get the most right wing, MAGA, religious nut in Congress. These are the kind of things that depress me, but we have to keep on pushing. I just heard that Ohio early voting is off the charts. This is more good news!
Plus the first 14th amendment lawsuit to get get Trump off the Colorado ballot starts on Monday. I have a good feeling this is going to create a domino effect, because I have every belief that he’s going to lose. May I not be wrong in this one case. We got our first snowfall here today and it looks beautiful, so I think I will go for a walk. Happy Sunday. 😊

I forgot you have a son in Denver. I don’t get out that way too often anymore, but I would love to meet him and his family one of these days. I wasn’t sure if the front range was getting it also. The weather patterns on the different sides of the divide can be unpredictable. We’ve had days of intense sunshine out west when Denver gets 3 feet of snow. Have a great rest of the day!!
Barry Blitt is my current favorite cartoonist. Truly, his pictures are worth a thousand words. Just the sense of humor we need in these trying times. Also nice to note that the lectern depicted was the one used in Saturday Night Live skits and it was designed and produced by my neighbor when I lived in Pennsylvania, Monkey Boy Productions. https://www.monkeyboysproductions.com Another source of the humor we need these days. Artists should always sign their work; apparently he failed to do so. I taught my niece and nephew that at an early age. I have her “Monet” rendition hanging proudly at my home, with her signature of course!
That’s why I didn’t think to credit him--I assumed it was signed as political cartoons generally are-- but it was on me to check. No biggie. Live and learn.
