Anyone navigating Thanksgiving with right wing friends or relatives might want to checkout Faithful America’s Facebook page where the have a replay of last night’s webinar: Tough Turkey. I watched it last night as was inspired and encouraged to find workable ways how to productively handle difficult situations. I highly recommend this one.
Thank you very much for your newsletter today and I greatly appreciated the Survival Guide. I will not need it myself tomorrow but I can definitely use it to help me have conversations in my daily life. It's excellent. I hope you have a much deserved break! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone
I’m so glad you found it useful. I did too and this is a pretty amazing group. I think we need people of conscience and good faith in the year ahead in addition to smart tactics. I woke up thinking about all the training in civil disobedience Rosa Parks had before she sat down on that bus. One hot, tired day it all kicked in. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
We had a wonderful conversation with rich audience questions and extremely helpful perspectives from our expert guests, who included two former conservative evangelicals, a public theologian and effective national organizer, and a very pastoral bishop whose diocese includes many politically divided churches.
If you missed the webinar -- or if you made it and are ready for round two! -- you can watch and share the recording on our Facebook page.
Here's the big takeaway: We can't replace Christofascism with Christ-like love unless we're leading with love. No matter how hard the conversations around faith and politics get this holiday season, let's strive to create space for listening, maintain a sense of empathy, and foreground the humanity of those around us. Anything else can quickly derail into hostile arguing that won't advance our values but might jeopardize our relationships. Yet it's keeping those relationships -- far more than making the right talking points -- that ultimately opens the door for change. At the same time, be sure to honor your own boundaries and mental health!
I'm so glad you're taking some down time - and we're going to hold you to it! You can even ignore this comment! Seriously I am so grateful for you, not only all you do, but how much your energy is a reflection of a positive, loving spirit. We need that, especially during these tumultuous times. Thank you!

Oooh can you post a link?
I'll send a bit more info so this makes a bit more sense. Still learning about links and posting other messages than my own.
Hope this helps. I found it really interesting on many levels.
You rock Jessica!
You inspire me to do so. (:
Stuff will keep coming up-all weekend. Relax, and enjoy the stuff-ing!
OK. I will. I promise.
Happy Thanksgiving, Jessica. Among plenty of other things, I'm grateful for you!
And I for you, Britta! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so glad! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Alan. Thanks for all you do.

When writing abbyaddresses for the FL campaign, the message needs to reference the “Johnny Farias in FL campaign” not “FL VBM Volusia County campaign”

Thank you for this link. I didn't know of this group - and the content is so valuable.
Thanks for the Florida info.
Joanne is pulling together some resources to work.
Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving Jessica. I just finished listening to what I thought was a really informative podcast with Dennis Ross. Sending along in case you’re inclined at some point to listen to it. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/america-at-a-crossroads/id1607877531?i=1000635509327
