UPDATE (and I shared this below too, but since Cynthia you are the leader of Jess Pack today). I got a bunch of folks to call. One did point one this article that appeared within the past hour.

Still call but I am liking the language of these Senators. There may still be hope for them. Jeffries finally is showing some resolve this week...

Yes Cynthia. But for some are actions are not enough or poorly executed. See how I was put in the corner like a dumbass by on BlueSky:

https://bsky.app/profile/lmplusg.bsky.social/post/3lk7et5ngec2u

Then this Lisa Glass aka lmplusg (who appears popular and one of the talking heads on BlueSky) posted on her own page:

''I think there are tons of accounts on this site who are pretending to be Democrats… Who are NOT. All they do is scream at Democrats. I don’t trust them one whit. I’m blocking them.'

My response (so apparently I wasn't blocked) to which she has also not responded:

I can now see why you so crucified me today re Schumer. I was at the NC Dems anti-DOGE rally today in Raleigh. Show some grace as the leadership was not listening. I am proud my Congresswoman Foushee boycotted the speech last week. That took some convincing, but she heard us.

Don’t be dismayed- it’s easy for people to judge and refute others. Continue to persist in your beliefs and you will be just fine. Let them “block” away. We can’t block the actions of Elon and trump - we must persist in trying to move forward, some actions will fail….but KUDOS to all making and talking about positive actions that move us forward…We Persist. ❤️

Just left the voicemail for Schumer! Thank you for keeping us informed.

Which number did you call? He's actually one of my senators and I can't figure out which of his numbers will actually allow me to leave a voicemail. They always just say call back during business hours.

I called the DC number just now and left a message.

I called Schumer’s New York number (212) and got an ancient message that hasn’t been updated since early January… Asking that I call back during business hours… Not a good sign!

Thanks for this. I made the call to Schumer and the other Dems on the fence. I can’t understand why they would cave when it’s the only leverage they have!

Omg Schumer wtf?? I had already left a message at his DC office, but just called his NYC office as well. If you're not willing to lead, move over for those who are.

Exactly!!! That is the message I just left at all of his offices. Disgusting and upsetting to see him looking fearful instead of showing leadership

FYI, his number in NYC I found online is 1-212-486-4430. Please correct if needed. I also left a message I compiled from Jessica - thank you! as well as this morning from Ben Meiselas on Midas Touch and Jen Rubin at The Contrarian Thanks, Diane

Thanks Jessica, you’re the best!! Made my calls and Axios just reported that after a private meeting Dems have enough votes to block the CR. Hoping that’s true!!

Yup. Just saw that in The Guardian. Very useful post Jessica. It does appear that our resistance is making dents in the wall of this maladministrations fast track.

Notice some back tracks anyone?

I called Schumer several times this week ALREADY as a constituent. I just called him again as Minority Leader. In his DC office an actual person answered (tough to even find an operating voicemail for him sometimes). Posted your info and script on fb (3rd or 4th time today for that). Don't mind either. We need to hold these "risk-averse" folks' feet to the fire!

Is it possible to start the process of recalling Schumer? Our representatives are not working for us and maybe a high profile Senator would be the only way to make them listen. Maybe Congressman Jeffries at the same time.

Crap, just realized there’s no mechanism for doing this. Ugh! Worst of all no term limits. At least others in the Senate agree with not supporting the CR

Thanks for all! I called all the Senators on the list, and a few other Democrats. It doesn't matter whether I'm a constituent of theirs or not because their votes affect not only their constituents, but me as well! And if they want donations from people throughout the country, then they need to represent us too! Happy to know people are calling! Thanks, everyone!

I called. Fortunately my senators are voting the right way. Until recently I was a resident of AZ and supported the election of Ruben Gallego. I am calling him too.

Thanks for all of the updates. I called my senators (Gallego and Kelly) and one’s mailbox (Kelly) was full, so that’s good news, but also means he’s not hearing from all constituents.

Edit: I got a recorded message that no one was available to answer my call one, so I left a message. Sorry if that confused anyone. Trying to save democracy and do my regular job at the same time is wild sometimes.

I couldn't even leave a message with any of those numbers. The 212/486-4430 has a old message saying they're closed for Christmas holiday. The other numbers you listed wouldn't even give me access to a voice message. Called at 4:04 - 4:06 p.m. Pacific time.

I called Schumer’s office and my two senators in California who I believe are no’s. Disgusted with Schumer. When will Democrats wake up and move forward with young charismatic leaders?
