Hi again.

I absolutely hate to send this many emails in a day, but I’ve gotten at least 35 emails asking me what a CR is, so I need to head this off at the pass. Sorry — in my haste I used an acronym with which many are unfamiliar.

CR is Continuing Resolution. It’s the Republican stopgap spending bill we’ve been discussing. The one the Senate will likely vote on later today.

One more thing: I see in the comments that some of you are calling Chuck Schumer. YES CALL HIM ALSO! He’s apparently leaning towards voting YES on this package. I know, unbelievable. We have to change his mind, and fast.

You can say something like:

My name is ____ and I’m calling the Senator in his capacity as Senate Minority Leader. I am a Democratic voter and donor who is begging him to whip his caucus to vote NO on this Continuing Resolution. If Democrats don’t use the leverage they have to protect us I will never forgive them. Vote NO until—at the very least—Elon Musk is reined in, Mahmoud Khalil is released, and Social Security is protected. Thanks.
