Hi, all. I am so sorry--it turns out that the hyperlink I posted in the newsletter a day or two ago for what I thought was the USPS stamp website was NOT a good link. In fact, I’m afraid the page I sent you to might be a scam. I copied and pasted the blurb about the postcarding campaigns--including the line about ordering stamps before their price went up--from a trusted source so didn’t think to check the link. I will not make that mistake again.
Yes, with the amount of scams out there it is a rare person who does not get caught up in it. It’s fine ❤️ but glad I hadn’t yet ordered. In general, I don’t think USPS discounts postage.
Don't beat yourself up about the link. I tried it but quickly realized it wasn't the actual site, because I have used the real site for many years. It's the easiest and most convenient way to get stamps delivered directly to you, with many choices for themed first class Forever stamps, in any amount you want.
I did order from the link you supplied and so far it seems okay. I received an email with a tracking number for the order and that did go to the USPS site in the usual way. So far, it has been posted as a pending order on my credit card site, and I'm inclined to wait a bit and see what happens. Why did you conclude this was a scam and what would you conclude that the scam was pursuing?
Most sites that offer discounted US postage are scams. This one might not be! But it’s a real problem that the postal service is aware of and trying to combat.
(Oh, and the scam is that they send you counterfeit postage. If you receive stamps front this vendor, it might be worth bringing them to your local post office to have them checked for authenticity before you try to use them.)
Thanks for the clarification. It sounds as if my worst exposure is to be out the money for counterfeit stamps? What a bizarre way for someone to make money!
I mean, it’s always possible they’ll also steal your credit card number, too. 🤷🏻♀️ I hope they don’t, though! I had mine stolen recently and it was a real pain.
With all you read and all you do every single day, it is almost inevitable that you relax vigilance for a moment. Please don’t be too hard on yourself, Jess.
Good that you caught it and notified. Could and does happen to any and all of us. Not to worry you dud the right thing.
Thanks Alan.

You’re absolutely correct I didn’t think they did either. I should have paid closer attention. Lesson learned.
I can imagine how you feel, but you’ve corrected the error now, and we’re all human. Humans make mistakes. It’s okay to put it behind you.
Thank you! I’ll try.
No worries, Jessica. We’ve all done this. You let everyone know quickly. Let it go. 🙏
Don't beat yourself up. S*** happens! Your newsletter is an invaluable resource, thanks so much for all you do.
Girl, please... no worries!
Thanks for all you do!
Please don't apologize! "It" seems to be happening a lot lately ... only much much more devious and dangerous! Thank you for all you do for us! xx's

They put some effort into making that site look authentic - it’s a mistake anyone could have made. Glad you were able to send out a correction!
Good you notified everyone....WAY BETTER if you check the links first :)
