Thank you for all your work, Jessica! I had my head down and really tuned out the news for the last three weeks. What I was feeling on the ground in the race I was volunteering for was an energy that nearly rivaled the 2018 midterms. The media just flat out ignored that in all their reporting, but we now see how right we were to just keep working!
The progressive movement has done more to help raise the overall quality of life in this country than conservatives have been willing to admit. The anecdotes about "smelly San Francisco", and the homeless camps (New Hoovervilles?) represent problems that will not be solved by returning to conventional practices. One cannot have high-end gentrification AND a lack of people on the streets.
We all are indebted to you, Jess, for your tireless work to lift our spirits and inspire so many to do so much to protect our democracy. Be proud.
