I read the first article on abortion, Jessica, that you said we all should read. Wow!! Outstanding!! However, please note people, it is incredibly long, but so worth reading all the way to the very, very end.

So much excellent history and also, more importantly, what we need to do as the Democratic Party, and as citizens to make sure we win in 2024 against the Republicans. Again, people, a must read. Well worth the 1/2 hour plus to finish this article. And I copied and saved it so I can send it out to family and friends. The more of us who know this info the better!!

Extra: Some EXCELLENT comments in it such as this one from Governor Gretchen Whitmer, “If you don’t think abortion is an economic issue, you probably don’t have a uterus." And several times I was thrusting my fist into the air yelling with what was said. Also, I am passing this on to Simon Rosenberg for his campaign re women and children, and to Robert Hubbell, just because. And it is full of great ideas about how we can hopefully get more young people registered to vote and to the polls in 2024.

Please make the time to read it. And then use the information.

Bonus: If you want to see the video the author talks about from Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow slamming a Republican colleague for lies she sent out about McMorrow, tune into this CNN interview and video from 4/20/2022 https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2022/04/20/mallory-mcmorrow-michigan-state-senate-intvu-dlt-vpx.cnn Not the entire video of her speech, but enough. Whew! She is someone to watch and re-elect!!

Indeed she is. And yes, I probably should have warned that the article is long. But so very very worth it.

I agree, an excellent article that I also forwarded. Universal pre-K, paid family leave and Medicare for all are also what I consider to be economic issues that the old school Democratic establishment have not fought for hard enough! The Democrats risk losing the hard to earn trust of young voters when they fail to follow through. Same with environmental issues!

Wow, fantastic email Jessica!!! Your list of good news gave me a big lift. The videos were terrific too.

In my weekly email trying to get people helping--usually to get people writing postcards, but this week for phone banking for Wisconsin for today, Monday and Tuesday-- I told people your story about phone banking when you got the poll worker who didn't know the difference between a Democrat and a Republican so wasn't gonna vote. Inspiring story! Ben Yee had a great phone banking story too, where he was calling for Biden in 2020 and got a Republican woman who said she didn't think she could vote for a Democrat since she was a Republican and he said well if you aren't happy with the way things are going you can vote for Biden and she said, really? He said yes and she said ok she was going to do that. And then he said do you want to volunteer? And she said, you mean to make calls like you are doing? He said yes. She said yes.

I love these stories since I am a shy phone banker.

WaPo columnist Amanda Riley said we need more optimism and less cynicism and negativity.

How do we get NY Times and WaPo to match your fabulous balance??

Started subscribing to Jay Kuo after clicking your link and reading his article. So good!

Also, came across a tweeted TikTok video (from BrooklynDad_Defiant) after clicking your link to "The Good Liars" tweet about the "massive protest" in front of Trump Towers (which itself was funny), have to share it here for another good laugh - thank you so much for brightening up my Monday morning!
