WOW!!! Thanks, as usual, Jessica, for this wonderful breath of fresh. It is always such a pleasure to see the small victories (and sometimes larger ones), all line up!
The $660 million is a nice start, but we'd make real progress if the $10-50 billion in tax subsidies that bil oil gets every year went to mitigation and cleanup instead of stock buybacks and executive bonuses.
The guidelines are one tool used by judges to determine whether to approve a merger.
The current guidelines are pro-corporation, pro-monopoly (ie, the opposite of the intention of antitrust guidelines).
The new guidelines are tethered to antitrust laws, and updated to reflect tech platforms and private equity firms (neither existed decades ago when the guidelines were drafted).
Comments are actually used by the FTC to bolster and refine its policies...one of the few ways that people's voices are directly amplified in our government.
Matt explores the history of the guidelines and how crucial antitrust enforcement is to reversing the massive income inequality of the past 20 years. This is the link to his excellent newsletter.
Inspiring list! Former President Obama is also on Threads now -- edited to say he's talking about books there too. Much celebration over the weekend for him there.
Great job as always, thank! I was wondering if there was any way to remotely help out with the FL petition to repeal the abortion ban. Have you heard of anything?
I know the signature gathering is going really well, but not sure how we can help from afar other than making donations. I'll put something in the newsletter this week.

Absolutely
Amazing list. Sharing this with a long list in my email contacts to lift their spirits.
Thank you! That’s what we need.
I would urge your readers to submit comments in support of the revised merger guidelines.
Matt Stoller's newsletter "Big" explains the magnitude of the changes, how impactful public comments are (these REALLY count), and he provides a link.
If you can send me that link and some background info I’ll put it in the newsletter

Wow, that interview with Sarah McBride was incredible! Inspiring, and inspired!! She looks for hope, but she gives hope. Thank you Jessica!
You’re so welcome! One of my readers alerted me to it so the thanks really goes to them! But it is, indeed, incredible.
I shared last week’s post with a long list of email contacts and 3 wrote back and said they signed up for your newsletter
Oh thank you!
Just shared this to my two favorite political groups and my own personal page.
The good news needs to be shared! ✅
It sure does! Thank you!
