THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS EMAIL TODAY! Honestly I was in despair when I heard Biden's news - but reading this list of accomplishments and just hearing your excitement about our new presidential election possibilities I am feeling better, more hopeful, and not at all like giving up so thank you from the bottom of my heart. And, as always, thank you so much for what you do tell your son who said you lecture too much that so many of us rely on you and appreciate you immensely!
Haha thanks, Tricia. Mj is actually nonbinary and assigned female at birth, but I will tell them that you like my lectures! LOL. They will still roll their eyes. (:
I hope that younger people can see themselves in Kamala and see how she could be a great leader for those next generations. I also hope that the Democratic leadership stops any infighting and immediately begins to shout from the roof tops their support of Vice President Harris while also telling as many Americans as possible about Project 2025.
Fantastic. This morning before I heard the Biden news I wrote and mailed some Blue Wave postcards. After I heard the news I wrote and mailed some Blue Wave postcards. Let's go win his thing!!!
Y'know? If Democratic leaders put half as much effort into expelling Robert Menendez as they have in shaming one of the most consequential presidents in our history to drop his bid for re-election, we'd really have something. Okay, now that I've gotten that off my chest, it's back to work to save our nation from the MAGAlomaniacs!
I think far too many of them are paying too much attention to what the NY Times and Washington Post are publishing and not enough time talking to their constituents about the threats to Democracy.
I was especially p***ed off by an email I got from a PAC asking me to rush money to Adam Schiff because his GOP opponent was out-raising him. As one of my CA postcard-writing pals reminded me yesterday - Schiff was the one who manouvered it so that this guy came in second place because he didn't want to be running against another Democrat in the general election. But no, he wants to blame any weakness on Biden! π
Shall we add to it the fact that we now have a young(ish) Black, AAPI WOMAN running for president? A progressive? With a Jewish husband? OMGGGGG! Heaven! Yes! It is heaven! So excited!
If you are looking to broaden your activism beyond calling your representatives and sending ResistBot emails, I ran a few queries in Mobilize to find some opportunities for engagement using some of my favorite grassroots groups. Here are the results:
Or create your own custom search at https://www.mobilize.us by clicking on the search button - I pulled all my searches using the dropdown box for "Candidate or Organization" - just start typing what you are looking for. If you specifically want virtual events (e.g., phone banks, Zoom Postcard or letter writing parties, etc.) click in the box labeled "show virtual events only"
Remember, activity is the antidote to anxiety!! I ended up attending a postcard writing party for a MI Indivisible group this evening as a result of running the FT6 query. I downloaded 10 postcards for their campaign to register Democrats in competitive state legislative races and met some nice people - many of whom were just starting their activism journey!
What a day!. I feel like I lived a whole year in one day.
As a 68 year old who has waited my whole life to see a woman in the WH as the leader of my country, I am thrilled.
A local candidate shared a comment from his nine year old daughter hearing the news from his wife said "I hope the new candidate is a girl so we can have the first-ever female President of the United States." Well her hope has come true and now it's up to us to be sure it happens.
Thanks, Jess! Tonight, Act Blue received $52.8 million for Kamala. Record breaking!! I sobbed at the news of Joe stepping away. I am angry at some of our people in Congress for not being on the up and up with us. It was a betrayal to us and an elder abuse on Joe. But he is the one who gets to laugh last. He has been the absolute hardest working president in my lifetime, for justice and fairness. We have him until the end of his term. We must give him our utmost thanks for his love for us all and his country. Kamala got his endorsement and she is going to fly all over Donnie boy. He wonβt know what hit him!
This one was so long I had to take a break in the middle π love it as always. I said a few weeks back that I was going to start including my own good news that I come across, but I have been slacking. Will get on that π«‘

I think that's happening, thankfully.

I am really liking the Blue Wave cards. Less physical writing which is easier on my arthritic hands.
There is no group where I live so I am starting one. I have 21 people committed to helping me.
That's great! I agree that Blue Wave makes it very easy.
You're amazing, Sky! Thanks so much!
YES! THIS!

Yeah, he's really not helped himself by his behavior recently.
I do agree.
