Yesterday was my first protest, and it was lovely. I'm looking forward to going to more of them. I wish I had started sooner

And my Alma Mater, Williams College, was the first in the country to refuse federal grants due to the stipulations required due to DEI. So proud to be an Eph!!!https://www.science.org/content/article/u-s-college-first-decline-federal-science-grants-because-new-dei-language

My husband went to William’s from 1970 - 1974, in the school’s first affirmative action effort. It changed his life in so many ways. We are proud of Williams today!

What a glorious day that was! When can we do it again? I’ve never felt so much solidarity and community, and joyful rage… can those two things go together? 😊 I get choked up every time I see videos of the crowds, big and small towns alike. I love the aerial views of these massive gatherings… we are mighty! Lucky you that you got to be a part of one of them, behind the baby-man float! Very cool. In my deep-red south Florida city, along with the old white people, there were, for the first time, some younger people, and young Latinos. One had a sign that said “I am the proud daughter of immigrants.” Warmed my heart so much to see them there, and I told them so. I asked them to bring some friends next time.

I just want the high from this No Kings Day to last forever…

I enjoyed the video — largely empty viewing stands, passersby hardly looking at the military display, tRump’s slumped, annoyed demeanor, Rubio’s yawn, Melania’s impassive model's pose. What a contrast to the joy and energy shown by “No KIng” protestors all across the country and even the world!!

This was my favorite, and most moving video of the day. After the murders in MN., No Kings Day events were cancelled there. But Chaska MN was not deterred, and whoever did the music and video made a powerful message. This is now my protest anthem.

I attended the San Francisco No Kings protest. The march started on time at 12:00 but we really couldn't get into the street until 1:00....and we were still mid-pack! It was glorious. Every person acted like they knew you..kind and considerate...laughing and chatting...it was a marvelous experience. It made me realize we can do what is necessary to save the country. We are all in this together.

Hi Jess In little Vancouver we had one rally with 6000 and another with 3500. As an organizer for Indivisible all I heard was thank you. This fascist bum and all the vermin he placed in charge of government agencies and the Republican scum in Congress need to be removed so we can again have the democracy we fought so hard to keep.

Jess! To be clear, we are empowered to act bc we are inspired by you! This Extra Extra was delicious & I love how we went from the Huntington Beach library to French Polynesia reefs & from E Jean to Michelle Wu to CCR! That 30% for Elon is still too high for my liking. My first calls tmw are to Sen Thune & the senate ethics committee members about Sen Fernandez’s vile behavior toward his constituents this weekend. All gas, no brakes. Let’s go.

Capped off with the Hugh success of the "No Kings" celebration of democracy, Trump's failed presidency was on full display all week. He's losing on all fronts. Hopefully we will soon see the OBBB collapse under the weight of its own heartless corruption by the rich and for the rich. The human soul of American freedom and justice is being heard all across the country. The MAGA have no answer for this except their shriveling nastiness. Consider Kristi Neom and her faceless ICE phantoms. Are those creatures Humans or Zombies? Americans will NEVER live in the fever dream of MAGA'S police state. Our Resistence will keep growing and growing.

Yesterday was a great day!!!!! In little Corvallis, Oregon, we had about 5,000 people show up. Seemed like from the video there were less than that there for Trump, though maybe it was not the whole picture.

Also have to note that my husband said the sound on the video clip can't possibly be for real--that was the sound of a very poorly rehearsed amateur band--unless they purposely played so badly. (He knows about marching bands, having participated avidly when he was in high school back in the early 70's.) I wonder if the sound in this video was "doctored" by the person who made it?

I don't mean to be critical, just wondering. . .
