A wonderful and uplifting summary of current events and good progress made. We all must continue to elect and re-elect Democrats in National and Local offices. Try not to follow the naysayers in the media as their efforts are intended to derail our fruitful efforts! Letβs continue to work together along with Joe and Kamala to finish the job for America! Thank you Jessica Craven!
I wish to honor all those who lost their lives in defense of our great country. I also wish to remember all those who lost their lives to gun violence in this country. All the children who will not graduate from grade school, middle school, high school and college. All the parents who will not see their children graduate or walk down the aisle because of gun insanity. I pray their sacrifice will weigh heavily on all Republicans and fill their hearts with regret until they give us meaningful gun legislation. I pray this is the last Memorial day we have to live in fear. Ban all assult weapons.
Hey, Patrick. I join you in your wish. I was heartened when I read this news about litigation that is challenging the immunity gun manufacturers enjoy thanks to the Supreme Court.
"In New York, California, Delaware and other states, new laws aim to provide ways around a near 20-year immunity provided to gun manufacturers and distributors. In Indiana, a lawsuit brought by victims of the 2021 mass shooting at a FedEx facility aims to hold a gun manufacturer accountable for the horror wrought by one of its weapons."
Some incredibly positive notes, Jess. I'm particularly struck by your acknowledgment of Amanda Gorman's poem, which was overshadowed only by her delivery. It rivals Ray Charles's America The Beautiful::
There was not one that should have been removed!!! Thank you. I'm in my sixth week since open heart surgery and I often don't want to do any more than the bare minimum - but you inspired me to share - and I pray I'll want to get back to my previous level of commitment!
Thank you, thank you! Just shared with two of my friends who have reason to care about a few things youβve mentioned. :) living in Texas, (but from Michigan) I was super happy to hear of Ken Paxtons latest woes. He must have pissed off some billionaire republicans or somethingβ¦wtf? Why now? But Iβll take it! :D
Outstanding wrap-up and definitely some good news at the end of the week.
Jon Hamm's ad is great and I wish Lucas Kunce all success but he's going to need something other than "I'm not Josh Hawley" if he's going to win. It will also help if the Missouri Democrats unite behind him and don't enable a spoiler like the Trudy Valentine candidacy that gave us Sen. Eric Schmitt.
I've read it, and supported him in the last election too, but his campaign material is all anti-Hawley ad last time was anti-Schmitt and, while he sounds good, Valentine beat him 2-1 in large part because her middle name is Busch.
In respect of the opposition, the false strawberries in my lawn have more to offer than Hawley and Kunce has at least a shot at it if he gets his act together and the whole party gets behind him. Valentine lost to Schmitt because she ran an insipid campaign and didn't seem to really be trying.
He does seem to have something special but it's also not the worst thing to run on how awful Hawley is, at least at first. It's the same thing Ted Cruz's opponent is doing.
What I'm really hoping is that Kunce can get a coalition of the Democrats in KC and St. Louis along with independents from the mid-state area who don't like Hawley and get through an unopposed primary to take the message directly to the incumbent. Just not liking Hawley isn't enough to win a primary as we saw last time, and Kunce is almost the dictionary definition of a successful general election candidate in MO.
I have hopes for Texas too because the current candidate seems a lot more energetic and realistic than O'Rourke.
Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! Jessica!!! Politics aside, that was an enormous amount of wonderful news! And so much of it thanks to President Biden's Afordable Care Act! And the Dodgers! If only ALL our professional sports franchises would get on board. Having said all that, What are you doing working?? It's a holiday weekend; get out there and have some FUN!!
How on earth do you find the time to find all these good news stories???? Some of them - yes; but, all of them??? Itβs a fantastic boost for the beginning of my Memorial Day, as I head out to put up my flag. Thank you, grassroots activist extraordinaire Jessica! Thanks to all the pro-democracy activists! Thank you, veterans. β€οΈπ€π
I so appreciate you, Jessica!!! π We need to hear all the good news and to hear specific ways to take action and make a difference, and you provide. Your commitment and hard work are giving many of us hope πΈ Super excited about your commitment to work with us in NC.
Jessica, another uplifting post! Things are getting accomplished, albeit a little slower than Iβd like, but dang it, theyβre getting done! Thanks for playing a psychologist this evening.

Loved Ray Charlesβ rendition of this. Have listened to it many times over the years. Thanks
Both American icons.
Thank you. A judge blocked SC abortion ban so abortion is still legal up to 22 wweks.

Thank you for FOUR DOZEN items of good news!!! Shared on FB and Twitter. You are a grass roots Rock Star and I love you!
OMG was it that many? I knew it was a lot but I couldn't bear to take any of it out!

I agree. It sounds personal. Likely the people out to get him are little better than he is, but I'll take it if it means him going down.

Dave, Kunce has a lot more to give than that Nazi, Hawley. Look at Kunceβs bio. So impressive and I feel he will resonate with people there.

She was indeed! I got a selfie with her!
Jealous!!!!

Really?!? Iβm so surprised! I saw a clip of her on the news and would think sheβd be all about it!
