Jess, I love everything you post or record to keep us moving forward in a progressive direction. I do have a couple of questions, though…

Wait! Montana has TWO transgender lawmakers?! I would have been surprised to hear that Montana had two transgender people, period! 😳

You do know, of course, that the bald eagles who conceived chicks did so only because Donald J Trump promised to pay for IVF. The eagles laughed so hard when they heard this cockamamie human story that their state of relaxation allowed conception to come to fruition. πŸ˜‚

OK, enough satire from me. Thanks again! πŸ˜‰

The footage of the speeches of the Reps from Montana is definitely worth watching. They are so clear and strong in their communication - speaking truth to power. They rocked it!!

Thanks for reporting on how much money was raised for United24 since the Trump-Vance coordinated attack in the Oval Office. It got lost in the total $$ raised since its inception, which was much earlier in the war.

The article on the Montana legislature voting down those two awful anti-trans bills gives me hope. And it demonstrates the importance of diverse representation and that personal stories work!!

I believe that out of 14 eggs, Jackie and Shadow have had three offspring survive to adulthood. Think good thoughts for the recently hatched eaglets!

My mental health had been starting to take a tailspin early last week. I stepped away from Facebook and all news sources except for checking in here and Heather Cox Richardson. (My main other sources were The Daily Beans and The Practivist Pod). Today's post really helped give me the positive boost I needed to be able to at least get back to calling my representative and Senators. Going to get on FB long enough to share your post and get back off.

I had to step away from FB over a month ago, my last social media is dead to me now. HCR uploaded all of her politics chats to YouTube, and the March 4 one is outstanding. If you haven’t listened to it yet stick with it till the very end. That, AP news headlines, and many newsletters on Substack are keeping me informed at a level that I can handle.

Go Bernie! He says we don’t have the option of despair right now. Thank you for thisβ€” the situation feels overwhelming so often. The link about Bernie’s huge rallies isn’t working for me.

Thanks so much Jess. I took a day off (sort of ) from the news. Instead I split some firewood, went to church, took a nap, and worked on a watercolor painting. Your news was like a yummy dessert at the end of a great day! You are truly the best!

Haha. I guess I carried water too, but it was from the sink to the table to wash my brushes. That probably doesn't count, but I'll take it.

Paul Tazewell is a lovely man and visionary when it comes to costuming. Also very nice and I had a pleasant time working with him at the Lyric Opera of Chicago when he costumes the production or Show Boat. So Happy for him.

Thank you for all the Good News.

Two things: the Vermont event with Becca Balint and our senators was their town hall, not the response to the state of the union speech. Balint and other legislators had a separate live response to the state of the union. And I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not but our local power company no longer advertises Tesla units on our Local Front Porch Forum, which is a statewide bulletin board for Vermont residents. It’s probably not in response to the letter I emailed the power company about not supporting Musk and Tesla, but who knows!
