I live in Ohio and I'm working on the petition drive for reproductive choice. Thank you for celebrating the Ballot Board's unanimous approval. Just one small correction: it will be on the 2023 ballot, if we get the 500,000 signatures we need in at least 44 of Ohio's 88 counties. (We can't wait until 2024 to give women back their rights!)
Yes, if we get the signatures we need by June 30. We have some strong headwinds. I've seen the same misleading dark money ad twice on the local news broadcasts.
Ohio is making it more difficult to get abortion rights on the ballot by requiring a higher percentage of signatures and making it more difficult to get those signatures.
Thanks for the link to the article about the Willow project. It looks to be interesting. The problem is the Atlantic has a pay wall. Any way to get around this?

Oh fantastic! In November?

Is the lawsuit they’re trying going to work?
All good, Jess! Thank you so much for helping us stay upbeat and up-to-date. Looking forward to a strong week for democracy.
Thank you, Sheila!
Regarding the woman who couldn't define "woke", this is a great article from Salon:

I’ll check it out!

But the ballot initiative is already a go, no?

Sorry about that I will try to screenshot and send out but I summarized the gist above.
Monday and good news. Thank you Jess.
Of course!
Mille grazie!!!
Good morning, Jessica! I think I hear your voice in this piece about Tik Tok! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-daily/id1200361736?i=1000604946305
OMG really? On the daily! I’ll have to listen!
And thanks for this edition of your newsletter. I need to start my week on a positive note. Lots of good stuff happening out there.
Indeed!
The Atlantic article is behind a paywall. Would you mind giving some of its highlights?
I have a sub to The Atlantic that allows me to share. I hope it will open as a guest share. Try this, and if not, I will try something else.

Kathy, thank you for the longer version. It showed briefly here, then disappeared, but I can still read it in my email.
Thanks, but it shows a few paragraphs and then a requirement to sign up for a "free trial" that will involve a credit card.
It basically says that it’ll be six years before the project is operational and by then it’ll be obsolete.
So the oil company will tear up the environment building roads and such, and then walk off.
No. They vote on the signature thing on 3/22. Common Cause is holding a rally to protest it.
