Honestly, I don’t know how you compile this list, never mind that you do it every Sunday without fail. It is so extraordinarily uplifting and inspiring. Thank you. 💜
One date correction: Trump's Manhattan "Election Interference" case (aka Stormy Daniels) was his successful attempt to skew the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton.
This may sound naive but I feel like the fever of insanity that’s gripped our country for the last 8 years is starting to break. Lots of craft stuff I’d still happening but that’s mostly due to the extreme and unpopular MAGA movement circling the drain and trying to take the rest of us with them. But if you look closer you start to see many stories of cooperation on the state and local level to just get stuff done. You highlight many of these stories. That’s not to say we are out of the woods yet but it gives me hope that if we can utterly obliterate MAGA in November this spirit of cooperation will only grow.
This is my favorite substack because of all the good information you provide! I love the positive slant too & the little axes make me smile! Thank you for all you do! :)
The story about the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge was inspirational. But with all due respect to Congressman Don Edwards, it should be named the Florence LaRiviere San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Yet another case where the woman who was the driver is kept in the background while the male politician gets the credit!
GO FUND ME organization allows funding for political donations. This is wrong ! Someone set up the account for TRUMP. It's legal, but a very damaging and negative resource. it's kind of like a captive party. Most who use it for good causes. This is disheartening.
Keep the good news coming, Jess. Thanks!
Doing my best!
This is such a marvelous newsletter. Thank you, thank you!
Thanks, Casey!
What a great accounting of right thinking and right acting. I’ll sleep better tonight!
Good! Then I've done my job right.

Thanks, Janie! You guys motivate me to keep it up!
Fascinating article about the ancient wall.
Once again, we see the brilliant human achievements possible when we work collectively.
Isn't it? I LOVE ANCIENT HISTORY!! So helps me keep things in perspective.
A really good week, and this editorial calling out the behavior of Congressional Republicans is a nice bit of icing on the cake: https://www.economist.com/leaders/2024/02/07/house-republicans-are-helping-vladimir-putin
Shouldn't be a paywall as far as I can tell.
Ooh good can't wait to read.
Excellent news, all around!

“Lots of crazy stuff is still happening” I meant to say. Unfortunately defeating MAGA won’t fix autocorrect.
Haha I like "craft stuff," too. And I agree.

Thank you, Catherine. So glad you enjoy it!
📣Yay! Thank you, Jess. Lots of good news.
Any time!
Here's to more newsletters with the tagline, "Trump's very bad week," lol...
(And here's to the one that says, "Trump surrenders to authorities to begin his jail sentence.")
Oh I'm waiting with bated breath to use that one.
What an incredible assemblage of good and reassuring news. I don't know how you do it! And thanks for the link. Much appreciated.
Always!

So true!
💙Had the same thought. Also, her name is so much more appropriate/poetic-like !
Jess, where can I find the publications for this Chop Wood Carry Water on Substack? When I click on
the Archives this hasn't been
updated for last week.
I don't understand the question...
I'm seeing all of this week's posts here. https://chopwoodcarrywaterdailyactions.substack.com/
Gee...on my phone, Substack for you, for this Orange Chop
Wood, which is the 1 I subscribed to, the latest is
Jan.3. If I click on a couple of you others, they're more recent, but I wanted to get
some links you shared in
posts last week. I Archive all
your posts and they're missing. 🤔
I clicked on your link above Jess and it took me to Jan.3
again.
Hmm can you email support@substack.zendesk.com and ask them? I truly don't know what's happening there.
I reported the problem. We'll see what happens. You're the
only Substack of mine this is
happening with.
