Love this good news report Jess. Thank you! More please! Progressives need to celebrate our ambitions and achievements on kitchen table issues that have broad appeal to mainstream Americans.
Jessica - I love your good news each Sunday - it is so healing. And it reminds me of all the good things we can build on to shore up and expand our democracy.
Here's some more good news that a member of Indivisible sent out yesterday:
β’Angela Alsobrooks and Lisa Blunt Rochester won their races, marking the first time in history that two Black women will serve in the Senate at the same time.
β’Sarah McBride became the first openly transgender member of Congress.
β’ In North Carolina, Attorney General Josh Stein will become the stateβs first Jewish governor, and Democrats broke the GOP supermajority in the state legislature.
β’ Monique Worrell, one of the two Florida state attorneys removed by GOP Governor Ron DeSantis over her reform policies, won her job back.
β’ Abortion rights are now newly protected in Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, and New York.
β’ White House whistleblower Eugene Vindman won his competitive race in Virginia.
β’ Every incumbent LGBTQ+ member of Congress was re-elected.
β’ Democrats secured a 5-2 majority on the Michigan Supreme Court after Justice Kyra Harris Bolden and Kimberly Ann Thomas won their races.
β’ Fani Willis, Fulton County District Attorney and thorn in the side of Donald Trump was re-elected.
Markers for Democracy hosted Justices Bolden and Thomas on one of their postcarding Zooms this year - both are very impressive and I'm very happy to hear that they won their races.
I am so glad I read this and watched the fabulous video at the end! After reading all this good news, now I can go to sleep with a smile. What would we do without you, Jessica? Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Please help us get the Social Security Fairness Act to the Senate floor (S597). The WEP & GPO unfairly discriminates against women and seniors. HR 82 was overwhelmingly passed in the House.
When our nurses, police officers, firefighters, and teachers retire, they deserve to have the full Social Security benefits they earned in a lifetime of service.
Please have your readers help us to repeal the unfair laws that cut public servants' benefits.
Contact your state US Senators and Senator Schumer to bring it to the floor.
Yes yes! Iβve had scripts about this bill in the newsletter before and I think maybe even have done a resistbot letter about it, but Iβll bring it back.
I typed too fast and did not check my writing. It was a joy to watch such an uplifting video at the end of so many good accomplishments. I wanted to write, βthank you for such a good uplifting letter.β God may have had a hand in it, but if He did He spoke to you. Thank you for your work and tireless dedication.
Wonderful to see! and also the link to Dick VanDyke! thank you for all you do, Jess!!! have a good evening!
Wasnβt that nice?
absolutely!!

I do one every Sunday without fail. π€
Of course you do! Youβre ahead of the curve always. Somehow it just registered as formally that for me.
You absolutely made my day & turned me from saddened to laughing! You are a treasure!!!!
Iβm really glad it helped.
Just shared on FB. We need your amazing compilation of good news, now more than ever. ππ
Iβm so glad!
I also shared on FB. We need to spread good news as easily and quickly as we share the shocking bad stuff.
Thanks Jessica. I couldnβt watch Trump on Meet The Press this morning but your full list of successes was joyous.
My dream is for so many people to refuse to watch him that ratings plummet every time he appears on a show.
That is a great idea for a boycott campaign.
Thank you for sharing all this information and especially the video clip with Dick Van Dyke. I grew up watching him on TV. He is definitely a legend.
He seems so wonderful.
I thought the ERA would have been passed by now. Iβm 71! Help get this to Bidensβs desk for publishing.
Iβve had it in the newsletter repeatedly and will again, promise.

Yes! I think Iβve had most of these in past Extra Extras but Iβm sure I missed a couple of them. Thank you!
