As always, thanks so much, Jessica, for this week's good news!
Oh, dear. I'm so embarrassed to admit this: My husband of 40+ years, is a native to Antigua. And though I knew of the Antigua and Barbuda connection, I never heard of the Island of Redonda being part of same. I most certainly will ask him about this when he wakes up this morning. Even so, it's good to hear that the rest of Antigua and Barbuda have been "on it" in my absence!
P.S. Love that our President was "caught" holding the book "Democracy Awakening" in his hand. I'm pretty sure HCR would gladly autograph it for him!
We need to address the press and media, NYT, WaPo, etc. Not a mention of Biden's influence in the cease fire and hostage release this weekend or a mention of trump's insane and fascist media post at 2am. Can this become part of our focus?
Jessica, thank you for all the good news, particularly for all the good environmental news! I was remembering the early days of TFG’s presidency over the weekend at a political fundraiser. Trump issued so many destructive and deadly decisions reversing years of progress on endangered species protections, EPA regulations, oil and gas permits on federal lands, air pollution permits on coal plants, and more. Made me crazy just thinking about it!
Much better to read this list and see progress!
I see eagles every day - at least until the lakes freeze solid here and they have to head south to find open water. That never gets old. Never. That eagles were precipitously close to extinction just 30 years ago should never be forgotten, in my opinion.
2024 will require much work from all of us. Grateful to see reminders of what we can do when we put our minds to it!
This is a great list. I especially loved the article on sustainable ranching. Thanks so much and so glad you were able to unplug for awhile. It really does help 😊❤️🙏
The link to the article about Meredith Ellis is only part of an extensive deep dive into the whole protein/environment issue. Wow. And thank you. Also thank you for the one-pager MAGA response.
That's a great article on regenerative farming. I have a friend in Indiana who is a regenerative cattle and chicken farmer and his operation is amazing. In comparisons, his beef won blind taste tests compared to brand named American Wagyu. His prices are competitive with supermarket offerings of the same quality. He and Ms. Ellis are the future of farming if we can free the USDA from the hands of corporate agriculture.
Putting solar panels over an irrigation canal shows major improvement in focus. We should NOT be destroying farmland, pasture, or forest to build solar farms. Easy, but we lose land that is productive and absorbs water. We lose the beneficial side effect of SHADE that solar panels provide even if they are not at the optimal angle for maximum electricity production. PUSH for solar panel banks over parking lots, roads, roofs and other impermeable surfaces. Chanel the water run off into reservoirs from which the water may be reused with as little treatment as possible. I carry this mindset to our Chatham County Agriculture Advisory Board; Please, You carry it with you and apply as often as possible. Love, Doc
It's great info. From a communications perspective, I fear it would likely backfire b/c rebutting someone (no matter how incorrect that someone is) triggers defensiveness and entrenchment in what the person already believed to be true. There are ways of bringing in this info w/out directly contradicting the other person. I can suggest some resources for this if you're interested.

I’m sure she would too!
Thank you Jessica for finding the positive and giving so much hope for or future.
As always you are very welcome!
I belong to two private political Facebook groups started years ago to help us cope with TFG.
I really love posting your good news summary to these Democratic groups.
What a great way to start another daunting week!
Thanks for all you do, Jessica! 🥰🎉
Thank you for spreading the good news!
Thank you so much for the good news!

Yes. It’s already my plan.

The comeback of the bald eagle is a reminder that miracles can and do happen, when we help them along a bit.

It helped immeasurably. And thank you!

Wish I’d seen it before thanksgiving but better late than never!

Is the Thankgiving meme from the Biden campaign or do you know the source? thanks!
Yes! From the Biden Harris campiagn! I'm going to urge them to do more like it.
