Hi, all, and happy Sunday. It’s been a long week—I flew from L.A. to Sacramento for the California Democratic Party’s endorsing convention yesterday. It was a bit…chaotic, (understatement) but I’m still glad I went, and I was able to clean out my email inbox AND finish this newsletter on my flights there and back, so that was good!
WOW, the guy who spoke at the Virginia school board meeting (impeded video in Sundays letter) was AWESOME. The good guys verses bad guys is really quite simple. He said it perfectly. Kudos to him whoever he is. I hope there are many more like him out there.
Thank you Jessica. Don't know how you do it! That last video was great. I couldn't open the NYT article, but I have a subscription on my iPad and will find it there. Thanks again.
Thank you for these wonderful and inspiring Sunday lists. The video clip at the end was icing on the cake. That young man said it so beautifully and I’ve still got tears in my eyes. Let’s just keep on being the good guys.
I am a straight white older male (who spent much of his life in the political and legal worlds of civil rights and who helped pass a state's non-discrimination law covering people who are LGBT. You write of a non-binary candidate in PA who won a local seat-congrats. A measure of societal change is when people no longer feel it is necessary to use 'identity'. Until that time, we should also start today talking about the attributes of that candidate, rather than their identity.
Who is that man from Virginia who gave the school board speech saying “there is no right way to do the wrong thing?” If he isn’t already in public office, he needs to run for something. I’m not in Virginia, but I’d vote for him!
Good, good news topped off with the brilliant video at the end. Big thanks, Jessica. Made me realize we have much to be thankful for as we celebrate Thanksgiving this year.
Thank you so much for sharing all this wonderful news with us, Jessica. I really appreciate it. It makes me so happy to know that our efforts to save democracy are paying off, and this should put all of us in excellent shape to build on that success in 2024 and to re-elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats across the nation.
With all that said, my mental health has taken a beating from all the frightening articles and commentary about what would happen if, God forbid, T****p wins again, as well as all the polls showing TFG leading Biden. My threshold for this anxiety has long been exceeded, and I feel like if I don't keep up with all this news then I'm not being a responsible citizen. What should I do? How can I ease my worries about the next election and not feel so fearful all the time?
Watching the gentleman (perfect term for him, BTW) addressing his Virginia Beach school board is inspiring, humbling and TRUE. He needs to be amplified❣️
My goodness. Thank you for all that news. It takes time to read it all and so worth it. Thank you for you Jessica.

Jess, my gawwwd...you’re the best!! I am upbeat now! 👏🏼👏🏼😃
Excellent. Shared. Thank you.
I sort of wish the army was worried a bit more about preparedness in this ever more dangerous world than apologizing for transgressions in 1917.
