The last number is the Long Island office I was able to leave a message with Senator Schumer telling him to rally the troops and have ALL Democrats vote no on this horrible CR.
I called 4 of these numbers and was unable to leave a message on any of them. The NYC office still had a Holiday voicemail greeting… I guess he doesn’t wanna hear from us? It seems a little disconcerting.
I am represented by two Republican senators, but I called Chuck Schumer’s office this morning and told him that he needs to corral the Democratic senators to vote as a block and vote no
NPR interviewed Senator Chris Coons (no relation) where he explained why he is voting no. Just because Donald Trump and the Republicans are going to blame Democrats for shutting down. The government doesn’t mean that’s an accurate representation of what’s going on.
Call the republicans, anyway. They expect a certain volume of calls from constituents. Flooding them tells them that something is sufficiently unpopular that it could cost them their next election. FLOOD them. Every time!
Sen Coons used an argument very close to the one I used in my phone calls to Slotkin and Peters today. Of course the Dems will be blamed. The Dems need to step up and tell the world that Trump and Musk are the ones already shutting down (destroying) the government, and they must be stopped.
Additionally, we have found out that being tempered is not working, so we need to be unified and stand up for what’s right. We need to be in it for the long game.
Dems also need to do a much better job messaging - straight to the people. The GOP is ALREADY shutting down the government by decimating budget and manpower providing services that keep America safe and make America a great place to live. The Dems must do anything and everything to save our country. (legal and non violent)
HOW CAN THEY BE WAVERING?!! what is wrong with Democrats? How can we ever fix any of this if our own representatives won't fight? omg this is so fucking exhausting.
Good grief! They’re going to get blamed for whatever happens no matter what so vote no. Who cares! If the Republicans want to pass a bill they need to work with the other side. Everybody’s always expecting the Democrats to be bipartisan but not the Republicans tell them to get lost
Calling all of them now. These folks may be worried about "shutting down the government" but Trusk has already done that and there will be no government left at the end of this CR. In the meantime they will gut social security, drive us into a terrible recession and more. Demand the Democrats resist with all they have.
Good news is that I couldn’t reach either Senator by phone, and the Capitol switchboard was a bit wonky. one time, a person answered and connected me to the office but their recording wouldn’t allow me to leave a message, so clearly folks ARE deluging legislators with calls, which is good. I ended up having to leave emails on their websites, which is what their recordings said to do.
And all the donations over all the years. I just emailed to info@e.electjon.com (reply-to address on recent solicitation, Subject: Wavering on NO on CR? Bad Idea. And after explaining briefly why, I wrote that my continuing resolution to donate to him would end if he didn't vote NO.
I mentioned I was now starting to question the postcards I wrote for him and disappointed, as a non-constituent, I put so much time into his campaign to now have to ask him to push back on this insanity.
Don't do it! Osoff is a good democrat. I'm not defending his vote, but the Dems need to get unified in whatever they decide. You taking money away by a Dem Senator is a viciously red state just shoots yourself in the foot. Fight the bad guys.
Democrats are damned if they do, and damned if they don’t. If the CR doesn’t pass, Republicans will blame them for the government shutdown. If they vote to pass the CR, Trump/Musk are going to burn everything down and Republicans will blame Democrats for not stopping the horror.
We should absolutely be on the side that does everything it can to stop this madness.
Y'all CR is Continuing Resolution. It’s the stopgap spending bill we’ve been discussing. Sorry I wasn't more clear!
Also YES CALL SCHUMER ALSO! his phone numbers are:
(212) 486-4430
(518) 431-4070
(202) 224-6542
(914) 734-1532
(631) 753-0978
Jess, Gary Peters (Michigan) is not up for reelection next year, he has decided not to run next year and this will be an open seat.

You can email them.

By the way, Schumer‘s number is(202) 224-6542
Used it. Thanks. Left message that Schumer should channel his inner Sen. Lyndon Johnson and get those waverers in line.
I just did the same thing. We Dems must stay strong against these weasels.
Thanks for sharing. I called and left a voicemail.

Good idea! They are going to get tired of hearing from me
Thank you! You can call the Democratic Whip, Richard Durbin 202.224.2152 also
Just tried his office and they said they had high call volume, so I’ll try later. Hoping that’s a good sign.
Thanks for sharing. I just called and damn his office won't even let you leave a voicemail.
Great idea - have added him to my call list.
If any Dem senator votes for this, they are complicit in the ongoing slaughter of our government.
Why one senator is voting “no” on a bill that would stop a government shutdown

I admire Dems for being polite and professional in the past, but Dems need to show they have steel, and they really care about these issues.
Dems are going to be blamed no matter what, at least they can do the right thing.
Dems also need to do a much better job messaging - straight to the people. I am too unfortunately. I called all the numbers you provided and I got through 3 different people.
HOW CAN THEY BE WAVERING?!! what is wrong with Democrats? How can we ever fix any of this if our own representatives won't fight? omg this is so fucking exhausting.
Agree.
typical of abusive relationships. Stockholm Syndrome.
Kim I just said that to the only one willing to sit by me, my pup!

Elissa Slotkin--the susan collins of Michigan, it seems to me.
I called her today too - even though I’m in MN
I just called Senator Ossoff’s office and told them what I would like him to do and why
My Senator King (I-ME) sounds a little wavery, too. Called and emailed.
This list makes me heartsick. Thanks for posting. I'm contacting friends in the affected states.
Now I am really questioning all the postcards I wrote to help Ossoff. 🤔

I already gave my money and my time. I’m disappointed we have to ask our reps to fight for us.
Yeah, I wrote postcards for Slotkin too. Left her same message. So disappointed
Same here. And donated to campaigns for him, and Gallego, and Slotkin...
Called Senator Ossoff
I can’t figure out why they are wavering? These are great people.
Not great people as far as being leaders, especially in a crisis. We’re seeing their true colors
I believe Gary Peters is the Michigan Senator who is NOT up for re-election.
He isn’t even running for re-election so there should be no reason for him to vote his conscience.
His conscience should be reason enough.
