Hi, all.
I’ve heard from a couple of folks who weren’t able to make the links for emailing the Texas companies work.
Here are the email addresses and, below them, a script to be copied, pasted and personalized if you wish (or write your own!) I’ve already heard back from the folks at Dell so we know we’re getting through somewhere!
American Airlines: mediarelations@aa.com
Hewlett Packard: InvestorRelations@hp.com and MediaRelations@hp.com

To Whom It May Concern at [Company],
I'm writing to express concern and horror at the recent announcement by Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott that Texas is going to start charging parents of trans children with child abuse.
[Insert sentence here about how this affects you/friends/family]
There are no words to describe the harm that this policy--combined with forced reporting by teachers and doctors and possible separation of trans kids from their parents--will do.
What will [Company] do to stand with trans kids and families in Texas? Because if we don't hear anything from you, one of the biggest companies in Texas, I will assume you condone this, and you will never have my business again.
Please, speak up forcefully against this policy. Threaten to leave the state. Do whatever it takes. You can't claim to be pro-LGBTQ and let something this awful stand.
Thanks,

Jess, thanks for making it easy to take action and to lift up the need to counteract this craziness. But I have a question - why aren't healthcare professionals and mental healthcare professionals speaking out?
I'll jump in here as a family doc who just learned from a friend about this website (thanks Jessica!) Healthcare workers are not in control of healthcare in this country. It is a for-profit industry tailored to the rich, making more money the sicker We (The People) are. It is based on treating symptoms (often ineffectively) with expensive pharmaceuticals and procedures, not on prevention or mental health or the greater good. Our health has been politicized, and healthcare providers do not have any power (yet) to change that. The best answer is Medicare for All, yet the legislature will not even address it.
