It really shouldn't be close at all, there is no choice for reasonable people. An articulate, intelligent, conscientious, energetic, successful person with a vision for moving America forward in excellent ways vs. a convicted felon who instigated a lethal insurrection against the country/Constitution he took an oath to protect as well as defying the espionage act with the theft of top secret documents and who has nothing to offer America except cozying up to dictators, advancement of white supremacy, division and tax cuts for the very wealthy.
During Democrats, lower & middle class increase standard of living. During Republicans, billionaires become richer and lower and middle class Americans needs are ignored. That's a fact.

So MAGA would get rid of FEMA, and when all those coastal dwellers start moving inland they'll whine and complain about US citizens migrating to their states. They really cannot see the potential consequences of their actions. Nor can they have a heart.

The horse race and Trump are "easy" news. Mediocre newspeople can write without much effort to provide insight. most voters don't read. They hear propaganda. Very frustrating aspect of democracy; their votes count too. Love, Doc
Can you write something to encourage our cultural icons : musicians, actors etc into signing a letter of support for Harris/Waltz campaign. During Vietnam these were our heroes calling out the disaster of the day and helping to bring the war to an end. This election is much more important, yet only a few of our female music stars have had the courage to do this !

North Carolina's State Board of Elections just announced they removed 747,000 voters from the voter registration list. As Heather Cox Richardson pointed out, "Trump won NC last time with about 75,000 votes." Jessica, please write how volunteers can best help remind NC voters to check their voter registrations. Even NC voters who feel confident that their's wasn't removed may be surprised.
Votefwd.org has had letters going out to remind NC voters to vote; hopefully those removed were adopted before that happened, as their letters are due to go out on October 1.
Hurricane Helene should be a "learning moment" for voters in Florida. "Republicans want to get rid of the National Weather Service and the NOAA, cut FEMA, and gut federal flood insurance." ?!?
