I also question people who say they are voting for Trump based on the economy; it's easier to say that instead of saying they don't want to vote for a woman or a person of color. I agree, we need to unapologetically push the message about all the good the Biden/Harris administration has done for the economy, and how Harris/Walz intend to carry that forward.

I found this little gem about Arizona Congressman Juan Ciscomani, in today’s Tucson Daily Star. It’s something to keep an eye on or write to our Congresspeople to oppose. In his weekly newsletter of September 23, Rep. Juan Ciscomani informed us that he had introduced H.R. 9678, which would among other things “prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to house inadmissible migrants on federal lands.”

I’m fine with reducing hazardous trash piles along the border, another goal of the bill. But I wonder why the federal government should be forbidden to erect temporary shelters, perhaps tents, to protect eventual deportees from increasingly hot Arizona summers.

People die all the time in the Sonoran Desert. Ciscomani will be condemning to death many people with his highly Un-Christian perspective on how we treat our neighbors and fellow humans. So much for loving God…

It is DEEPLY unChristian. Also, how will Republicans build their deportation camps if they pass this law? (Insert eye roll emojji here)

And how will the companies who build the buildings for the camps make enough money?

Also, pretty sneaky getting me to read political facts for extra credit!

I reay enjoyed your presentations on the "24 hours in '24" postcarding zoom. After a good night's sleep, I am ready to dive back in.

I still have several large piles of postcards to finish up - most with mail dates over the next two weeks, but once I get my head above water on those, I promise to do some phone banking! You are very persuasive, Jessica! ;-)

I have completed my poll observer training and have signed up to do 8 half-day inside poll observer shifts during early voting plus a half-day on election day. NC has 18 days of in-person early voting and Mecklenburg County has 33 early voting sites!! (Some less populous counties may only have one EV site). That is a lot of volunteers!! Inside poll observers must live in the county in which they are volunteering, but outside poll observers can come from anywhere - even out of state! There is a manditory training session of about an hour in case anyone is interested.

Another great volunteer option that you can do from anywhere is being a Voter Protection hotline volunteer. I'm signed up for that training for this evening. This will be the 3rd election where I have done the hotline and being a poll observer. Here is a link for the NC hotline training: https://mobilize.us/s/sbfgpg

Check on mobilize to find hotline training in a different swing state!

Dems have ALWAYS been better for the economy.

Key here: the 8 trillion the Trump administration added to the deficit last time he was in office.

DEMOCRATIC ADMINISTRATIONS REDUCE THE DEFICIT. It's a hallmark!

I shake my head every time I hear or read of voters choosing the donald as the more fiscally responsible candidate.

Thanks for the list, Jess. I will use it. Let's remember that knocking on doors and engaging with our neighbors is still the best way to get our message across

Oh @Jess, Blue Voter Guide is so grateful for today's shout-out!

Just FYI, here's an easier link that takes people right to the Blue Voter Guide-specific social media assets, rather than going to the huge variety on the Field Team 6 SoSha platform.

Another way your readers can get directly to the Blue Voter Guide assets is to use the “filter” column on the far left and only select Blue Voter Guide. Thank you!

Years ago, when I lived in Las Vegas, the local LGBT+ newspaper published a voting guide. I’ve never found a good one since until this blue voter guide. It’s awesome, especially for the ballot initiatives and “non-partisan” offices, especially judges.

Trump has control of the Supreme Court. and the Republicans in House and Senate. If he should win the Presidency again and take control of the Fed he will inflate the currency and destroy the "full faith and credit" of the United States all so he can pay off his massive debts/loans with cheap dollars and thinks this will make him as rich as he pretends to be now. All US citizens will go down the rabbit hole with him. He has NO understanding of the confidence that supports a currency or a nation. The signs of his losing credibility, even with Trumpers who are viscerally afraid of him, have been growing steadily. He seems powerful until all of a sudden he is not. Please let's all make certain he loses BIG. Love, Doc

Trump inherited Obama and Biden's economy, then blew it up mismanaging the pandemic. Biden has slowly put it back together. Inflation is a world wide problem. I moved to Mexico and inflation is rampant here, something Biden and Harris had nothing to do with It is purely corporate greed, period.

I agree with your praise of Biden's economic performance...and there's a lot more to say. His support for labor unions, his DOH and FTC's work on breaking up monopolies (see the news today re. Visa), the IRA, Chips and Science Act, and Bipartisan Infrastructure legislation.

Inflation has been a serious problem for many Americans in the last three years, but people have to understand that there's a sharp limit to how well a president can control it. This surge was almost entirely the result of supply chain pressures stemming from the pandemic, especially altered buying habits, as well as the energy shock that followed Russia's invasion of Ukraine. EVERY major developed country had an inflationary surge. It wasn't Biden's creation. It wasn't unique to the USA. This is really basic stuff, but when voters are so woefully uninformed they lash out at whoever happens to be in the White House. I really do have great sympathy for struggling workers, but they have to be reasonable, too.

So many great action items! I am a little confused about the giving circle focus. I've adopted NC in this election but I didn't see them listed in your Chop Wood, Carry Statehouses link. What am I missing? Thanks, Jess!
