Hi, all, and happy Tuesday! I have to make this quick, as I am about to hop onto the 24 Hour Activism zoom—I hadn’t realized until this morning that the schedule was in Eastern Standard time. Whoops! I thought I had three more hours! It’s National Voter Registration Day. Take the time, please—even if you already have—to
Jess, you were SO inspiring today at the 24.5-hour Postcarding Marathon! Thank you SO MUCH! (and thanks for giving several shoutouts to Field Team 6!) I've worked with you before (I think with FT6 and maybe Flipr 2020, too?) but I had no idea about your newsletter. Thanks for being so inspiring today. I will probably try phone banking again!
Oh wow yes it was probably Flipr! Did that group get back together? And thanks for the nice words--today was really fun, other than my dog barking her head off at the beginning!
In the 24 hour postcarding marathon by Markers for Democracy et al., Simon Rosenberg laid it out, that The Economy is voters' top issue, so we need to be conversant in it. Fits right with Jessica's comment and note that Red Wine & Blue is hosting Amanda Weinstein, economist and co-host of the Suburban Woman Problem podcast.
I registered (again) in AZ just to be sure. After I checked “democrat” the boxes for my phone number wouldn’t cooperate. I changed it to Neutral and it worked fine. More voter repression.
Hi all. Here is a long and irreverent letter from Michael Moore (to Governors Abbott, and DeSantis). Sometimes I just need a good laugh, and a good kick in the pants to get me going again. Please don't read it if you don't have time or don't like irreverence. But it's all true. That's why I like Moore. https://substack.com/inbox/post/74105025
Hi again. Jess, I just read Dan Rather's piece this AM: "Why I am telling the truth". It is yet another big MUST READ AND SHARE. He is 92 now and pulls no punches. Of course he would be preaching to "our choir" of your following but I think, coming from you as something to read and pass on would be great. When you have time and if you think it's a good idea.
After I put the phone number in I was able to change it back to democrat and enter the new voting registration. I don’t know if I’d have all the choices for voting on the ballet if I didn’t

Yes. I hope a lot of folks will attend.

That is wild. Can you vote in all the same races regardless of party registration?
Not sure

Yeah it was beautiful. I'll put it in EE this weekend.
