Thanks for calling out the "sane-washing" issue. Here's what I wrote to the NYT, Politico, and WaPo:

Be better.

Stop bending over backwards to sanitize — or “sane-wash” — Donald Trump’s ridiculous ramblings.

To quote Columbia Journalism Review:

“As applied to Trump, the idea [of sanewashing] is that major mainstream news outlets are routinely taking his incoherent, highly abnormal rants—be they on social media or at in-person events—and selectively quoting from them to emphasize lines that, in isolation, might sound coherent or normal, thus giving a misleading impression of the whole for people who didn’t read or watch the entire thing.’”

Your job is to inform, without fear or favor. Translating gibberish into coherence is irresponsible when it is that very gibberish that merits headlines.

Do better.

Cold or not, you are a wordsmith Jessica Craven! One of my many favorites: "In the face of Harris’s muscular performance Trump was like an umbrella in a wind squall—whipped out of shape, immediately absurd, inarguably useless."

Hi Jess, just popping on to day that I appreciate the link you gave to Alpha Grapics for getting Harris/Walz signs. Some Trumpers on my street put up some horrible signs and so I posted on FB to my other neighbors (the sane ones) that I'd be willing to order the signs if there was enough interest ... and yes, yes, there was. They were so excited. I can't wait until we flood the street with these signs!

They're great, aren't they?

OMG you guys, I just saw the coolest lady on TV last night. She came face to face with the Devil and beat him back into the ground without even a single bead of sweat marring her perfect makeup.

Super impressive! Someone should make her President!

It was very

soul satisfying indeed to see Kamala Harris take down

that old, misogynist pest. Dropped 100 postcards in the mailbox on our way into town this morning 😊🙌

The forced arbitration thing is a big deal. It's gotten way out of control and is used as a get out of jail free card for all kinds of corporate abuses. If we win a trifecta in November (knock on wood X 1000, not counting chickens, etc), we should push this hard. There will be a huge lobby against arbitration reform but if we're really noisy we might make some progress. At a minimum forced arbitration should be banned for employment.

I used my balance of ResistBot coins to promote this too.

The sanitizing daylight of a real time, unfiltered, debate has hopefully collapsed another or several other "pillars" of MAGA madness. And we got to see the true brilliance of our next president, who as a minor footnote in history, happens to be a woman of color.

I suspect, from this point forward, the Perverted past president will only double down on his horribleness. Go Donny!! Everyone likes a good horror movie. Sadly for you, the vast majority of Americans can tell the difference between reality and unrelenting gastliness. And by the way, we don't live in a failing country. We live in a wonderful country. Drop out now!

Good day, all. Just learned that Red Wine and Blue will be holding a fundraiser for Springfield, OH this Sunday at 3 pm PST! I have been hoping for a fund raiser such as this! Red Wine and Blue is powerful and sure to raise a lot of money for a town that deserves the love right now. See you there!

A ham sandwich has the ham in the middle surrounded by two pieces of bread so a truth sandwich would have the truth in the middle. Perhaps a truth sandwich should actually be called a disinformation sandwich, starting with the truth, sandwiching in the lie and ending with the truth. Maybe we should call these "Disinformation Sandwiches on Whole Truth Bread"?
