As for my congressional representatives, I changed tack today as they had either sponsored or co-sponsored the bills in question, so I chose to thank them for their support on both marriage equality and shining additional light on the inordinate amount of money in our political system, but that more will need to be done.
'With the ever-increasing extremities in the Supreme Court decisions for many years now, particularly this last session, I am heartened that Congress is finally starting to take steps to protect people’s civil liberties and also shining a light on who is spending inordinate amounts of money to influence our elections and elected representatives.'
I thanked my representatives for their co-sponsoring as well! Sometimes it feels like I can't do much when all my representatives are democrats and already in favor the issues that concern me, but this is a good reminder to thank them for their work too!
Thanks for this! I love how you found me--very good to know! And believe me, thanking your reps is REALLY important! It helps them know that we're watching and appreciating the direction they're moving in.
