Hi, all, and happy Monday! I want to say three things before we get started taking our actions: First, I’m deeply moved by how many of you upgraded to paid subscriptions yesterday. Thank you. I hate bringing up money in this newsletter—I’m aware that pretty much every Substack author in existence is asking you for it regularly—but with my household financial situation about to change so much it had to be done. Lots of you stepped up to help, and I’m truly grateful for it.

And thanks for including the holdouts on the assault weapons ban bills. I figured all my CA reps were on board but I was glad to have the facts as reassurance.
You are right, Jess. There is NO PLACE for assault weapons in private hands/homes in the United States. You are also right that we have to vote out every R on every ballot, up and down. Remember, the R's use lower-level elected office (school boards, city councils, county commissions) to "train up" their candidates, in part, because these seats have low barriers to entry.
Too many of us don't think about running for office ourselves. Pretty scary right now, too, because of the violent and volatile voter pool. However, maybe we can each think about it, or talk to our young friends about putting their hats in the ring? Elected officials have set lofty clean energy goals for Central Atlantic states - with the timely approval of responsibly sited and equitably developed offshore wind projects, we can stop climate change and protect the marine environment.
"The Biden administration needs to hear from you. Tell the President's team why you support offshore wind in the Central Atlantic by sending in your message below:
"Fossil fuel interests have been funding local groups to spread misinformation and stoke fears regarding offshore wind turbines. They are capitalizing on coastal residents' love for the ocean and their way of life. The truth is we can, and we must, protect marine wildlife and transition to 100% clean energy, and developing offshore wind energy can help us do both.
"Offshore wind will play a key role in the burgeoning clean energy economy, creating family-sustaining, union jobs for local workers. We will work to make sure environmental justice communities and residents of port cities like Baltimore, Norfolk and Wilmington benefit the most from these projects.
"Sierra Club members to our north are already seeing the benefits of the clean energy revolution. In New York City, an old fracked gas power plant was shut down and stopped from repowering by our movement. Now, that same site could be home to a transmission line for a proposed new offshore wind farm that will provide enough power for over one million homes. Not only will this project directly replace fracked gas, but the turbines will be assembled in Brooklyn's South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, out of components built up the Hudson River in Albany.
"We have the solutions to fight the climate crisis and repower our country with 100% clean energy - it's up to us to make sure the Biden administration finishes the job."
Thanks for the idea about adding QR codes to letters - we write letters to Democrats Abroad members urging them to register and request their overseas ballots. I just had a 'head slap moment' adding a QR code to our letters will make it easier for members to access Vote from Abroad and/or share information with others about https://votefromabroad.org Good one!!

Yeah it's good to see who's there and who's not, I agree. Sad to see ANY Dems on the list. Sigh.

I'm confused about House Holdouts on Assault Weapons Ban. All on list I can see are Democrats. What, then, does Holdouts mean?

If you look at the bottom of the google sheet you’ll see tabs. Click on the tab for republican holdouts. You’ll see...all of them.

Can't complete sign up letter writing in Ohio for youth. The page is off center and to large. Can't complete the very bottom and submit
