The theme that kept playing through my mind as I listened to Doug, and Michelle, and Barack, is just the power that simple respect generates and multiplies as it spreads. It can do great things and is now called upon, yet again, to deliver. These are powerful messengers. Their authentic substance, not as principals on the world stage, but rather as caring, flawed, accomplished, warm individuals, was inspiring in the extreme. I did not intend to watch the entire sequence; I had no choice. Once begun, leaving was not an option. The warmth is not unlike coming home after a long journey and it is the kind that lasts. And motivates as it comforts. Because it is real. And we never have to apologize for it, because it exploits no one; it only enhances. How special to be reminded by such effective messengers. This is actually the fuel that drives Our Great American Experiment on its wobbly, yet persistently upward trajectory. Simple. Difficult. Brilliant. Enduring. As long as we act, for that is the proof of listening.

Last night was amazing! The musical roll call! Doug! Michelle! Barack! Michelle Obama was so good that I said to my husband "Barack better bring his A game." And he did. But I think Michelle brought her A+ game last night. (Plus she looked amazing!) My daughter has been listening to the playlist all day. Thank you for all you do!

So far, soooo good. The convention has been a joy to watch. Even though it gets late here in Michigan (haven't seen midnight two nights in a row in decades!!), it has been worth every second. Gooooo BLUE 💙

The tale of the two roll calls says it all. The DNC roll call demonstrated joy, energy, and pride in our diverse nation. The RNC roll was old and stale.

Thanks for the link comparing the two, I'll be sharing it.

Hi everyone, I just want to flag that US citizens who are living abroad and have requested their overseas ballots will receive them by email on September 21! We will be voting in less than a month! If you know someone who is living or studying abroad this fall it is NOT TOO LATE to request their overseas ballot. Send them to https://votefromabroad.org There are more than 6 million of us living abroad, our votes have been the margin of victory in many tight races (Eg. the Senate run off in Georgia, 2020, the Attorney General in AZ in 2022!) We can win this!

Thanks so much for posting the "Roll Call", which I missed. This evening, it was just me and the dog in the cabin so I could turn up the volume and dance to the music, cry, laugh, and cheer here in Western Montana. We have got to win this one. We have got to get past the haters, the bigots, and the moneybags. We have got to bring back hope, sanity, and decency. We cannot let that miserable excuse for a human being control the airwaves any longer. When we fight, we win.

@Jess, take a look at Micah Sifry's post of The Connector today--taking a deeper look at why this moment is so cathartic for our side--and for America in general. https://substack.com/@patticrane636836/note/c-66259979

Imagine the WOW factor for Kamala's Election of introducing MCRA, End Putin's War, The Sheriff's List, and a ceasefire adequate to allow rebuilding and feeding in Gaza. Let's do all we can to help her have that happen. Trump can stay in Mar-a-Lago and gaze at his gold faucets in the bathroom and cheat at golf. Love, Doc

Jess, you wrote, "...In addition to texting them, we need volunteers to call these targets to encourage them to complete the easy process of registering." Are you aware of any texting opportunities for those of us who can't make calls? PS I'm listening to the sound track from last night's roll call, and it's awesome! With all the energy last night, it was hard to hear.
