I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.

I pick up voter registration cards at the library in Texas and offer them to folks in the grocery store , on my walks …whenever I am out. When someone says yes I ask if they want some for their friends and family.

My Congressman unfortunately is Andy Biggs, AZ CD5. I do make my calls to Congressman Biggs with all of the asks in the Chop Wood, Carry Water newsletters. I just made my calls asking for support for these gun control measures but it feels like it is an exercise in futility or that I am shouting into the void. No, I'm not literally shouting at the staff members. They are always very pleasant and state that they will pass the information on to the congressman. At least there is a record of my concerns so they can't ever say "Well no one ever says they want gun control in AZCD5."

Yeah, sometimes we just get to be that lone voice in the wilderness. But still, such an important voice.

Jessica, I am pleased you got a break and that our “dream team “ is so joyful and moving up in the polls like fire. 🔥

However, did I misunderstand you to refer to the former ticket as a “ham sandwich”? 🥪 Surely you would never disparage my hero Joe Biden in such a way. Please clarify and edit. You brought me to tears as the man is a hero so little appreciated for all he has done. PLEASE CLARIFY YOUR COMMENT.

Good grief! No! I didn't mean Joe Biden. Remember when we thought he might step down we were saying that we didn't care who would replace him--we'd vote for a ham sandwich?

re the state Supreme Court races you asked us to support in order to get a progressive majority in them, not only will these races determine whether or not there is a progressive majority, but they will quite possibly be involved in helping to certify the Nov. elections results in each of those states. So helping get a progressive majority and perhaps other election problems resolved in our favor is critically important. Especially for the races in MI, NC, and OH. Send money now people!!!

Welcome back, Jess, and Happy Anniversary!

I sent my message to DOJ, but I tweaked it a bit. In addition to disenfranchisement of voters, I added that such nonsense will create chaos at the polling places as people are forced to use provisional ballots or react in some unpleasant way, and the integrity of the election will be impacted by this interference. I also punched up the last sentence: "This is a civil rights issue for the voters whose sacred voting rights are being infringed!"

It is unconscionable that the same people who claimed that Democrats pulled a fast one while trying to deal with COVID without harming people would do something like this with a straight face.
