Love the wisdom that “our brains are hard wired to look for threats” so train the brain to seek out the positive! Makes it easier to be empathic and solution focused!

In the 'win' column, a tiny bit of accountability for Guiliani, who has been unanimously recommended for disbarment.

Yes! Debating on whether I should put it in EE this week, or wait til he's officially disbarred.

Probably best to wait, even though disbarment is assured.

hi there, as per a recent posting from a new subscriber re. do phone calls and emails work...my legal address is florida and i have to agree after a half a year of trying to send emails, personalized, on specific subjects, to Rubio, Scott and my representative Dunn, i truly feel it is useless given their boilerplate responses. i think my time is better spend writing postcards. happy for your feedback.

Just thought to share link to Victor Shi interview of NoLie Brian Tyler Cohen. It is great and really speaks to CWCW and Hopium Chronicles as how building our relationships in our circles and spreading factual info awakens voters. Hope u all enjoy and share!

I've been trying to post your suggested Resource Document on my Facebook page and cannot get the link to behave correctly. It only shows the first page of the Google document. Could you please make the rest of the document more accessible? I'm not all that enthusiastic about videos and would much rather share the document, particularly the lists of (my favorite) organizations and contact information.

When you click on the link does it open to the full document?

it did from your blog, but not when I copied that link or the tinyurl link.

That is so weird. I’ve never heard anyone have that problem before. Not really sure what to do about it so the second page just literally disappeared?

I decided I needed to get a lesson on how bills get enacted into law.

I found this "tutorial" that was very helpful to me. Maybe others will find it helpful, too. https://www.congress.gov/legislative-process

Thanks, Ellie! When my senator replied to me, "Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind should this legislation be considered in the Senate," I wanted to know what that actually meant. That's how come I went searching for an answer. To be sure, the Schoolhouse Rock version is more to my liking!

That's one phrase they all use so that we think they're listening to us.

Indeed, Dave. It just got me to realize I didn't know what needs to happen after all the co-sponsoring happens!

Expand full comment

I'm not clear on that either. Co-sponsoring used to be an indicator of the strength of a piece of legislation to get the attention of the leadership and sometimes move things forward. I don't think it has that impact as much any more.

In case you're interested, here is the section that addresses co-sponsoring and what happens afterward. The whole process is kinda lengthy.

If its a META platform does that mean its a Zuckerberg owned site?

Yes. Which I would normally never, ever advocate for, but in this case Elon Musk is SO awful that the enemy of my enemy just became...my Facebook friend?

Speaking of saving the planet🔥…DeSantis vetoed a Republican sponsored bill ( it passed with a single no vote) that would have saved the state millions.

“The Iowa caucus voters who are all about ethanol don’t see electric vehicles as something that is economically in their favor,” Eskamani said. “DeSantis is catering to his Iowa voters, not passing policy for Floridians.” Gifted article:⬇️

Does Blue Wave provide postage? For Postcards to Voters, we have to buy cards and stamps unless you're lucky enough to find a USPS branch that has prepaid cards on hand. On the plus side, the P2V cards that are available on Etsy are good quality and the graphics are excellent.

No Blue Wave doesn't provide postage--you have to buy that. But their postcards are all very high quality. I won't buy the prepaid ones from the PO. Too flimsy!

Expand full comment

Agreed on the USPS cards, even when you can get them.

You can also order the prepaid postcards at USPS.com. Delivered in your mail within a few days, and shipping costs are minor. Here is the link to the cards. You may have to create a log in to buy them. Pack of 10 for $5.30, and with the Forever stamp.

Another thing our group does is to purchase a ream of card stock and have it cut into quarters, giving you around 2,000 blank “postcards” depending on how many cards were in the ream. Not flimsy, much more room to write, blank on both sides, and plenty of room for the addresses. Then you just need to get the postage.

Jessica, what is the name of the new social media platform you are on?

Threads! The new META platform.

I wasn't much of a Twitter user and will wait and see how Threads pans out.. for now it is also tied to your Instagram account so cannot be deleted without also deleting your Instagram.. and tbh not a fan of Facebook either. And after Fb acquired Instagram then discovered that it was by default also automatically cross-posting any Ig to Fb until I toggled that off.. sneaky and undesirable since I intentionally do not use Fb.

Yeah, I hate that it's owned by META, but it's also the one platform that may succeed in bringing down Musk, who's an existential threat to so many.
