You are a marvel Jessica Craven! In spite of your exhaustion you still published another incredible newsletter. Thank you and thank you including the One Million Rising information. I signed up last week and I have been posting about it frequently.
As always, Jess, a useful and caring column. My conservative daughter-in-law who lives in Texas was so sad because she was a teacher whose students went to those camps that were inundated, and my grandson when he was small went to those camps. I told her to remember what she learned in her church, love connects us all. I hope that penetrates the Trumpism that’s around her.
Jess - I don't know how you're able to come back to doing this every day, when most of us just need a minute to hide under the covers before taking a deep breath and reading your inspirational marching orders! We're all so grateful. I hope you hide under the covers when you can and need to.
If I may - I know there's a lot of reference to the irony of how un-Christian this administration is, because they spout so much BS about God/Jesus/Christian nation/all the gratuitous wearing of crosses, which is a huge load of BS. But maybe the suggested scripts don't refer to things being un-Christian? (Today's call to Senators - "we are becoming a vicious country - utterly unChristian"). For those of us who are decidedly not Christian, it feels rather awkward.
Just some feedback from somebody who shares your political views and supports your activism.
Today you criticised the Big BS Bill by saying: “ We are becoming a vicious country—utterly unChristian.” Well, I am an agnostic, and I know many wonderful Americans of non-Christian faiths. I reject the implication that being un Christian is to be vicious. If anything, in the US the Christian faith is more strongly associated with being used to justify violence and hate.
Keep up your good work, but please do not equate the behavior of the hateful and greedy MAGA regime with my un Christian status.
Thank you for the references for daily calls. They're such a helpful reference and it's much easier to change the wording to suit me when I have some momentum of what to say. We appreciate you!
it pains me deeply to say this but after the last 10 years of mind numbing hate and callousness by MAGATS, i cannot, in good conscience, send money to any red state that is experiencing a mass casualty/natural disaster event. this is who and what you voted for and you deserve the consequences when it hits the fan.
An absolutely valid point, i understand that and am deeply sorry for the collateral suffering as a result.
But the narcissism, gas lighting, supporting facism and white supremacy, and savage cruelty by MAGAT "christians" towards anyone who isn't white and straight, has left me numb.
Thanks for quoting that line from one of your favorite childhood books (I'd love to know the title as I've got grandchildren): “the heart that breaks open can contain the entire world.” I hadn't articulated the emotionality I've felt lately when a stranger (sometimes assumed to be a Trump supporter) interacts kindly with me in random circumstances, but you nailed it. Instead of feeling angry or resentful, I've felt my heart open to their momentary, interpersonal kindness or friendliness. That is indeed one of the silver linings of this dark, dark cloud attempting to engulf us these days.
Thank you, Jess. I called on these issues today, and got through to staffers. I've signed up for the One Million Rising training, even though it is way out of my comfort zone. And I've signed up for a local Rapid Response to ICE raids training.
Thank you, Jess! This is better than anything I could have put together, as a wish list of things I can do to help in the current situation. I love this. Question - is there a post-passage version of the pcc big bastard's bogus bill summary and timeline we might access? I want to be sure I'm giving out accurate information when I'm out at rallies and pickets. Thanks a million!
Your inspiration about grief and caring leaves me feeling a bit more positive and hopeful. Your words help more than you know. Thank you for always being that ray of sunshine on these dark cloudy days we are in. That's why I look forward to your posts every day!
Thanks for highlighting the Postcards4VA "Wake Up Virginia" campaigns.
I will definitely be getting writer's cramp this summer! I am also writing for both postcard programs for Postcards the Swing States - their standard GOTV one (where the postcards will be mailed in October) and their experimental "News Boosting" one. You can read about both here:

This is one of the most beautiful and caring posts I've read on Substack. Thank you for sharing. 💜

Not everyone in those red states voted red. Those kids certainly didn’t.

No one deserves to die because of the state that they live in, and feeling that they do is pretty MAGA-aligned thinking. Just in reverse
i never said anyone deserves to die because of what state they live in. i said i can't support relief efforts.
My daughter and I have been talking about escaping America to Canada. I will die without my healthcare.
I sent her the INDIVISIBLE link to sign up for the Wednesday meetings.
Thanks, Jess
I hope you get some rest.

Good everything

you are a light in the darkness, thank you
Thanks as always!
Slight correction for the House call script: the House version of the Senate's GENIUS Act is called the STABLE Act.
