OK, I just did the scary thing and called my representative for the first time! And... Huge letdown after ringing about 20 times, I got a message that the call cannot be completed as dialed. I couldn't even leave a voicemail. I did persist and leave voicemails for my senators though! It was so easy and won't be scared next time. Now I have to figure out how to contact Abigail Spanberger!!

(202) 225-2815 or (804) 401-4110 or (540) 321-6130 -- I'd recommend saving them in your phone. Those are her DC office and two district offices. Call any of them!

Yup. District offices are ALWAYS easier than DC ones.

For anyone else who runs into this problem just google your rep's official website. Scroll until you find "Offices." It will have the address and phone number of all of their offices, DC and district. Any are appropriate to call. And save them in your phone!

Hi Jessica! Thank you so much for these posts. I live in a blue state and my senators and representatives are already cosponsoring the above legislation. Any tips on what to say to them? Just call and say I support that?

Yes! Thank them and ask them to PRIORITIZE them. They have to choose which bills they put the most energy into. Make sure they include these!

30 million 18-30 year olds are NOT registered to vote in America. Can't we get Amanda Gorman and other young leaders to speak out and get them registered. It is so distressing that our youth are failing our democracy. 18 year olds got the vote after the Vietnam War debacle when youngsters were sent to fight and die for their country without the vote. Many of you seem young: what DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD DO TO GET THEM TO VOTE~~~~!~

Alice have you signed up to send letters for the Civic Center? They are targeting young voters and trying to get them registered. That's what I'm doing. thecivicscenter.org
