Into the woods is one of my very favorite Suntime musicals. Children will listen brings me to tears every time and the princes singing agony is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. And everything in between is pretty great too.

It really is. I don't know how I'd remained so unfamiliar with it. Not a big musical theater person, I guess. But now I look forward to seeing it again!

I’m always happy to meet a new Sondheim fan! I hope you try to see another one of his shows. They’re rich in great messages.

Thank you for pointing us to postcard writing. A hardy small, group,of Maine islanders just sent ~500 stamped, addressed, written, underlined cards to Ohio voters urging them to vote NO on Issue 1 August 8.

That's amazing thank you! I'm actually driving my kid to camp in Maine on Saturday!

Did my first Resistbot letters because I was so discouraged after watching Joy Reid tonight on MSNBC. Tommy Tuberville is really pissing me off but the issue is bigger than that in my mind. We (as a country) are closer to an authoritarian fascist government than we know. As Americans, we had better wake up to that reality.

Anyway, my letter writing eased some of my anxiety, much the way you probably felt after attending Into the Woods.......

As a social worker I want to point out that gutting SNAP benefits will not only hurt farmers, but also the thousands (millions?) of children and their mothers who will not eat as the result of this action.

Oh absolutely. And I have done many Resistbot letters about that very thing in this newsletter. This one just happened to be focussed on climate but yeah, gutting SNAP is just pure evil, any way you slice it. Also thank you for your service!

Hello, I am so glad you enjoyed Into the Woods. I have been a fan since 1986. I worked on a production of this show for my community in 1989. The Broadway production had number of my (actor) friends and now with the touring company, which I saw in Chicago, it too has many friends in it's cast. Milky White stole the show for me. Also Sondheim's No One is Alone is also one of my favorites and too cry.

OMG Milky White! Extraordinary! And yes, No One is Alone. Just really, really so wonderful in every way. Please tell your friends who are cast members in this production that it blew me away, and I am so grateful for it. This tired activist needed the boost.
