Fucking Murkowski folded after getting special provisions just for her state.

She has a responsibility to the entire country.

Everybody in the country has a unique situation and they all should be protected. When she tries to justify her bad actions by "me and mine are safe," it is a selfish willful sin.

Read yesterday that the Parliamentarian threw her "deal" out before the vote. But, she voted AYE anyway. She needs to be primaried right out of office.

Everything about this screams coercion, and even more so if this is true. I don't disagree with you at all, but can't help thinking there is more to this than we may ever know.

Copied directly from the linked article:

Murkowski still appeared discontented with the bill, even after voting to support it, describing the process as "rushed" and under an "artificial timeline".

"I struggled mightily with the impact on the most vulnerable in this country", Murkowski said, adding the process was "probably the most difficult and agonising legislative 24-hour period" of her career.

"My hope is that the House is going to look at this and recognise that we're not there yet," she told reporters just outside the Senate floor, moments after the vote.

Murkowski's support made the final Senate vote tally 50-50, and prompted Vance to step in to cast his tie-breaking vote.

If she genuinely feels this way, then blood is definitely on her hands. Could have been a John McCain but chose to be a Mike Johnson (AKA Trump's johnson).

I posted a TNR article that details what happened. IMO Murkowski is playing the public with her "concerns" and hand wringing. She knew her vote would secure this horrible bill's passage in the Senate. She could have voted NO. She is "hoping" the House sends it back to the Senate. Really? I think both the Senators who voted AYE and the House members who support this bill don't care a hoot about the people they will force off medical care/assistance, SNAP, etc. Power and $$$ and re-election drives them; not decency, compassion or empathy.

Hey, Jonathan. This was my understanding as well. There are two articles that, in my limited view, seem to contradict one another. Although it may be the timing of the respective publications, or my lack of understanding. And both coming from reliable sources, seems to me:

Murkowski said. “We do not have a perfect bill by any stretch of the imagination. My hope is that the House is going to look at this and recognize that we’re not there yet.”

Murkowski said she’s urged both the White House and top Hill Republicans to send the bill to conference rather than ramming it back through the House this week, and slammed the “artificial” timeline Trump and GOP leaders had set of speeding the bill to his desk by July 4.

“I’ve urged the White House that I think that more process is needed to this bill, because I would like to see a better outcome for people in this country.”

So maybe it's a set up?🤷‍♀️

Control of a database of every voter roll crosschecked with Soc Sec, DMV, IRS, and every other database of our personal data which has been rolled into one master index, together with his “denaturalization” of citizens are both VERY REAL. All he has to do is go to swing states and where a few votes would make a difference, denaturalize everyone in that target area to oppress their vote, and he has the key to manipulating any vote he wants to put anyone or anything into his tiny little fists anytime he chooses. Yes, he can now manipulate the vote. I suggest you read the 30Jun25 Tyranny Tracker Day 162 by Olga Lautman on Substack. It’s important reading right up there with Heather Cox Richardson.

I believe that's why he wants to reverse umbrella abortion care procedures. Women dying = less votes.

I'm just waiting to see how he segways rounding up women in general since the right seems hella pissed at them. His base has well-funded trad wife rallies, mags, influencers etc telling women NOT to vote. Others have called for women to be imprisoned just on principle.

If you referring to Trump’s EO to “reform” elections in March, a federal judged blocked parts of it in April.

On Friday, in a second ruling, a federal judge “blocked President Donald Trump’s attempt to overhaul elections, … siding with a group of Democratic state attorneys general who challenged the effort as unconstitutional.”

How many of us donated, phone banked, knocked on doors and helped to elect candidates for whom we are not direct constituents. We have to make politicians understand that gone are the days when they are elected solely by their direct constituents. I am calling Republican House-members and telling them that if they want to get elected ever again they better start thinking beyond the people who can vote for them, especially if they’re in more economically challenged areas where our donations and our hounding their largest donors will make or break them.

The posting of Senators largest donors was a good move. I know that took work and we need to compile I’d lists for all republicans up for reelection now so we can begin a hard target campaign.

BTW everyone should be boycotting Uber and if you want to know why, watch the truly repugnant interview he gave on Sunday Morning. I love that program and they should be ashamed of themselves. His interview was vile.
