Why isn’t anyone calling attention to the fact that Trump did not call in the National Guard for the January 6th insurrection even though a clear and present danger was posed to police, senators and congressmen. In fact, he pardoned those people!

Make no mistake about it: Trump is trying to provoke a situation where he can declare Martial Law and suspend the Constitution. That's it.

Trump has always waved around the Insurrection Act of 1807. This is key to become the dictator he dreams of.

What happened to States Rights? Trump has made this country into an authoritarian hell!

Trump and MAGA’s hatred and racism is the cause of whatever happens.

No one elected him for economic reasons or foreign policies. MAGAs voted for Trump for: hatred, fascism, racism, sexism, gender discrimination, etc.

How about wearing this "Keep the immigrants, deport the racists" t-shirt in front of bigots? 🤔 👇

Wouldn't it be great if thousands of people in LA showed up to protest wearing inflatable Halloween costumes? Imagine all those armed thugs facing a sea of T-Rex's, Barneys, Sumo Wrestlers, Unicorns and whatever else people have. What better way to de-escalate? If I lived out there I would organize it.

The Administration’s plan to escalate the peaceful protest in Los Angeles is in full swing. Militarized ICE agents attacking a macho-driven community is not wise. Nevertheless ICE was able to secure their areas with modest support from county and state Local Law Enforcement (LLE). No Federal assistance was requested; however, the Trump administration illegally mobilized and seconded the California National Guard. That was an inflammatory response fueled simultaneously with rabble-rousing malign words from xenophobic Steven Miller, racist militant Tom Homan, dog shooter Kristi Noem, and the drunk Pete Hegseth. They are all instigating turmoil and fanning the flames. If they had any peace-inducing ideas, they would STFU. I did not know where this protest will lead, but peace during protests is suggested. Stop with the rock throwing, please. Passionate is okay. I suggest just laying down in the streets. Big, heavy protestors should take a rest, as I explain. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/uninvited-trump-escalates-conflict?r=3m1bs

I sent this as a joint letter to my three representatives in Congress from Texas: Senators Cornyn and Cruz and Congressman August Pfluger:

Senator Ted Cruz

Re: Saving your current government positions; saving the nation

Gentlemen:

I am writing this letter to you jointly because you all have the same opportunity, on the one hand, and stand to lose everything, on the other hand. But, to save your current positions you must first save the nation. It would be extremely naïve of you to think that when Donald Trump completes the transformation of our government from a representative democracy to an autocratic dictatorship you will still have your positions. You won’t. And even if you do, you’ll be nothing but figureheads.

The political game has changed, as have the stakes. History tells, with remarkable redundancy, that your present government positions will be worthless in an autocratic state.

You can save the nation by taking bold and needed action now. When you do, others will follow and this national nightmare will come to an end. And, you’ll go down in history as heroes instead of cowards. The nation needs you to take action – NOW.

With best regards,

I called my congress people about ICE, and requested they be in their district/state with constituents on Saturday June 14 for NO KINGS DAY. I added that 20,000 missiles appropriated and promised to Ukraine were misdirected to the Middle East, and to look into that and make sure we support Ukraine with what we promise and heavy Russian sanctions.

There is so much, but that covers this mornings calls.

Thank you for going to protests. It is heartening to see the huge support for David Huerta, union president. No one left hanging to dry.

Well that was fun. I called the Marriott to ask if I should cancel my reservation at the end of the month in LA as I was concerned ICE would be interrupting my stay and that I' be supporting a business that supports fascism. (I do have reservations at the LA airport Marriott). The agent wanted to know where I heard that Marriott was putting up ICE as it was news to her. She couldn't find any statement from Marriott but definitely seemed concerned and sympathetic.

Thanks for letting us know about I.C.E. agents staying in Marriott hotels. I called Marriott, too (case #698030520). Spoke with a kind gentleman who took the time to notify their main office by email and supply me with a case #. The call lasted more than 20 min, but well worth it!  Also added they need to know Marriott employees may be at risk of being abducted by I.C.E. agents since they seem to indiscriminately load brown people into their buses.  Added I would hate for someone’s family member not to return home from work & not know why.

Thank you Jess!

I just wrote a similar comment. My call was a "mere" 15 minutes with a very attentive and kind woman. However, she didn't seem to know how she could send the message to the main office/corporate, but she did open up a case and send it to the hotel in question.

Did you notice that when the call is first answered it says Marriott prioritizes the well-being of its guests and associates? I had the same thought you did -- imagine how the people who work there feel, seeing those brown shirts!!

It's outrageous that 47 continues to ignore the Constitution. He is intent on ordering the military against American civilians. If it takes 3.5% of the population to stop a coup, let's make sure more than 50% stand up against him, Miller and DOGE.

Just called Marriott corporate. The menu says "Marriott prioritizes the well-being of their associates and guests." I got routed to reservations. The person I spoke with was very, very nice and took a lot of time with me (15 minutes). There wasn't a way for her to send a message to corporate, but she gave me the mailing address (below) AND sent a message to the property (AC Hotel Pasadena) in question.

It is my understanding that Marriott

is allowing ICE agents to stay in their hotels in Los Angeles. I'm extremely distressed about ICE's presence in our communities, and now ICE is terrorizing LA and brutalizing that community. They are ripping families apart. Is Marriott OK with harboring these thugs, who wear masks, show no ID or warrants, and were beating peaceful protestors with batons? If so, I will look for accommodations elsewhere in the future. Please ask Marriott's corporate management to

stop harboring ICE agents. Thanks.

CHARLIE ANGUS - MESSAGE TO CALIFORNIA

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yu20X1Tb_n8

A civil war is an ongoing military engagement of opposing armies, militias, or paramilitaries (like the proud boys or police), made up of citizens from the same country who are physically trying to harm each other.

These are organized forces which have chains of command to co-ordinate and sustain military combative operations.

A protest or riot is not a rebellion, because it does not have a chain of command. It lacks sustained military engagement. And, there is no organization of any combative operations.

Although some individuals may choose to engage in random acts of violence during a protest or riot, they do so at their own peril and are not making a decision on behalf of everybody else in the greater cause.

Anybody that breaks the law takes on the consequences of their action themselves, just like any other criminal. A protest or riot does not excuse you from that.

Nor, does an individual's choice couple everybody else to the decision for their crime. That would be like arresting everybody in a neighborhood because someone's house was burglarized.

So, what is happening in California is NOT a civil war. And, it is NOT a rebellion.

It is concerned citizens, protesting in disorganized ways, against Trump's deliberate assembly of an illegal paramilitary - which has its own chain of command. Trump is at the head of it. Through Roberts, he has given himself immunity from the repercussions of his actions.

Governor Gavin Newsom of California is taking the next step in the process to file a lawsuit today (Monday June 9th 2025), that orders Trump remove his paramilitary - composed of National Gaurdsmen, Marines, and militarized ICE agents - from the state of California. This is part of an effort to restore the jurisdiction of California's state government and its constitution, which Trump has called into question.

Meanwhile, Trump has retreated to Camp David (located in the state of Maryland) to meet with America's Generals. It is uncertain whether his goal is to get advice, or to browbeat the Generals into following illegal orders. It is likely he is doing both.

The bottom line is, under the federal Constitution, federal military forces cannot intervene in a state's affairs without an official request from the state's governer.

They can visit and watch, but do nothing else. They can assist ICE (like bring them coffee), but NOT execute any of its mandates. They can protect federal property, but that is usually left to local police which are better equipped to deal with civilians who live in the region.

In hindsight, a civil war or loss of freedom seems inevitable. If you fight a dictator, you keep your freedom. If resistance remains peaceful, dictatorship could take hold. If resistance turns into armed conflict, civil war could erupt.

But, there is a third option. That of government and people doing their jobs to protect and uphold the constitution. The public's role is to express their positions on the issues and make them highly visible. That's what protests are for.

An example of this, happened yesterday (Sunday June 8th 2025) as a result of the California protests. The California City of Glendale has ended its partnership with homeland security, and therefore ICE, because the program had become too politically driven and divisive. They felt it was more important to preserve the public's trust that government was acting on behalf of their best interests.

Citizens at these protests are NOT organizing unrest or rebellions - TRUMP IS.

The following is a dynamically updated timeline as events unfold on the California situation:

Each of us has our own big bright colored sign to bring in conquering this molehill that's about to become a mountain.

Doesn't matter if you're gay or straight, disabled or fit, educated or uneducated, religious or an aethiest, urban or rural, poor or middle class, homeless or a homeowner, on welfare or gainfully employed, right or just minding your own business.

Anybody can get hit by these psychos because they are always pissed off at something. And, you can't control their emotions - appeasement never works or stops.

It can be done - peacefully. Violence just gives Trump an excuse to invoke all kinds of wartime measures.

When we show up to protest, it shows how many people we are. And, that makes congressman tremble in their boots, because they know when we get pissed off...

they WON'T get our votes. And, they will be out of a job. And, we will make sure the new administration takes their pensions away and charges them with treason, like they tried to do to us.

Trump pardoned hundreds of J6 Insurectionists who were serving time. Many of these were offered ICE jobs. Most don't know the law, or barely understand why there even are laws. They've been given a poor debriefing on how law supposedly works to give them the power to do their jobs.

That's dangerous, because with that misinformation they are justifying themselves, to themselves, that they can do anything.

I was a prosecutor, in a blue state, for 27 years. If ICE were kidnapping people without judicial authorization in my jurisdiction, I would have sworn out warrants for their individual arrest. And my local PD would have served those warrants.

When are we going to have a prosecutor show the balls to do that. Arresting people without a warrant is a criminal offense. If a few of these thugs were to be arrested, ON STATE CHARGES that Trump cannot pardon, it could have a powerful deterrent effect.

And yes, I really would have done that.

Jess, looking closely at the time line of events it looks as though the LA Police deployment, in their riot gear and aggressive actions (I believe this was outside or near the ICE detention center), started the turn from peaceful to combative. This was b4 the Nat'l Guard escalation. I caught just a snippet of the press conference with Mayor Bass, but I'm left wondering if she jumped the gun, and unnecessarily kicked off this off and backfired. We MUST see calm, cool action from our Democratic Mayors. To me, the message to LAPD should have been move calmly amongst the protesters and help keep things peaceful. LAPD in full riot gear, on the offensive is NOT the correct message!
