Flags are really important, but I think we need songs, too. I think of English football and the singing in stadiums, as well as past protest movements. It's good to have a playlist, but I think it's better to have a few songs that have meaning to people, that everyone can sing along to. I think it makes you feel part of the movement, and it provides courage should that be needed.
Thank you Jess for all you do. I find your newsletter one of the best especially for offering issues to act on. Being on a limited income I can’t offer financial support but I pass on your newsletter and ideas often. I hope that helps. BTW we civil rights, Vietnam War etc. protesters can’t believe we’re doing it again. But here we are sad and angry but still fighting.
First of all I and the free thinking sensible world are appalled at what is happening in America. For years we have looked upon America as a beacon for a free world and then along comes the poisonous Trump and his cohorts.
To Jessica and all of you who post, work hard to defeat your monstrous government I applaud you and wish you all the luck, perseverance, hope and strength to defeat the reckless, inhumanity of this group of barbarians and I send you love and courage, for their actions have a knock-on effect for all of us. I wish I could do more than just encourage you!
Sylvia, thank you for your support. You don’t say what country you’re from but knowing parts of the world are with us brings us hope. Many from other countries shame us not realizing how many people don’t support t and his cronies. American politics are governed with money and it makes us sick. I appreciate you, V
I live in France, though I was born and lived in Britain for most of my life. Many, many of my French and ex-pat friends feel the same way as I as do many of my British friends.
OMG OMG OMG how did I miss the news about Kilmar???!!! I guess we’ll see what happens from here but I’m so so happy to hear this. There are so many others! I will continue to include them in my calls every single time.
I hard agree about the flag. It makes me sad that every time I see one now negative thoughts fill my head about the person holding/displaying it. 🇺🇸
I made a donation to The States Project using the link you had in the chat. The receipt was not for the states project , but for federal candidates. How can I cancel that? And make the donation to The States Project? It was through OATH.
Really? Do you think Abrego Garcia is actually going to get a fair trial? Didn't you get it when BS Barbie said they were going to "try him AND convict him?"
Thank you so much for the link to Lawyers Defending American Democracy. As a still licensed but retired attorney, it felt great to be able to sign onto that complaint. And I’ve donated to the group LDAD. I spent too much time, effort and money getting those degrees to let them go to waste. So I’m looking for ways to help the effort using them. This is a start. I’m in touch with my state Bar Association to see what I can do to help immigrants although that’s certainly not my area of law. But I also joined the ACLU and they sent out cards in English and Spanish “know your rights” and I handed those out to some Brazilian friends who have a large community here. They’re afraid and some of their friends are really afraid. And Brazilians can understand Spanish. Action is the antidote to despair, says Jessica, she’s right!

Holly Near songs are great.

Hi Virginia,
Thank you.

You are not alone in the world.

Please talk about hr 3518. They‘re trying to defund medical schools now! There’s already a doctor shortage that has mass accelerated since covid.
I tried to join the Not Above The Law and it was at capacity. Any idea if there will be a recording?

Thank you Jesse for keeping the fight!

Good news indeed about due process and Mr. Garcia’s arrival for his fair hearing.

Thank you so much for the news on Kilmar! I have been worried about him, I hope this is a step in the right direction.
I have made a google sheet of Resistbot codes that I use from you, Rogan's List, Coleman, and other misc ones. So many, this was the best way I could keep track to share with others haha: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yyz1-qnDfYDsNH233Yhl2MKrwk9SAda0CrJF7tCjKXk/edit?gid=0#gid=0
Have used your Resistbot. Very useful.
