One of the grassroots organizers from Take Action Minnesota shared this Mariame Kaba quote at the Flip the Vote meeting:
Hope is a discipline. It’s less about how you feel and more about the practice of making a decision every day that you’re still going to put one foot in front of the other, that you’re still going to get up in the morning, and you’re still going to struggle. It’s work to be hopeful. It’s not like a fuzzy feeling. You actually have to put in the energy, time and you have to be clear-eyed and you have to hold fast to having a vision. It’s a hard thing to maintain but it matters to have it, to believe that it’s possible to change the world.
It was good! People are starting to turn out now and wanting to get information about how to host their own house party so I was encouraged by that. FtV helped people host 135 house parties in 2020 and raised over $7million for the grassroots orgs. Of course everyone so desperately wanted Trump out people were much more active. in 2020. This midterm year people were slow to activate. But I think the situation might have changed due to all the developments over the past month.
My CWCW Day 7: Left VMs for CT Senators and my district's House Rep, left VM for the Jan 6 committee, and dropped a comment to the Department of Justice. I am going to pass on Nevada this time, but I am keen to pick up Wisconsin support in July.
Just thought I'd share this - my call script for this morning:
I’m calling about our out of control Supreme Court. We have to stop this court, which represents a minority of citizens, from taking away our rights! This past week has been tragic for women, for cities, for voters and with this latest ruling, for the planet! I’m asking the Senator to sign on as a co-sponsor of S1141 the Judiciary Act of 2021. I’ve called several times about this and have been told he is considering it. The time to take action is now!

Congressman to sign on as a co-sponsor of HR 2584. I’ve called several times about this and have been told he is considering it. The time to take action is now!
(for Hickenlooper and Neguse) I appreciate that the Senator/Congressman is a co-sponsor of the Supreme Court Ethics Act but that’s not enough to stop this out of control group of activist justices. We need to increase the number of justices before any more damage is done!
