Thanks for above, but first, don't give up on Walter yet. Indoor cats who get out typically don't go far. Usually, they stay within a few houses. He may be savvy enough to hide under someone's deck or in the bushes. There's a great little business here in the Seattle area called Three Retrievers, and they have a boatload of recovering cats suggestions. Do go out at night with a flashlight and see if that catches his eyes. Often cats are scared and quiet so even calling them won't work. We hope you find Walter safe very soon.
Another Don't give up hope yet note--at least for Walter. Our younger cat isn't the brightest bulb, and
she slipped out and was gone for a week before she made her return known to us...there is a chance he'll hang, as others note, in relative scary-to-coyotes environs.
My indoor cat - semi-blind - got out one bitterly cold winter night. He was missing 7 weeks! Every day was torture. I almost gave up hope and then he was found. Miracles happen every day. Praying for Walter. Two days is really not that long - they are survivors.
So sorry about Walter. I agree. Do not give up hope. Put some of yours and his stuff outside with your scents. He could be hiding somewhere. Post on Pawboost if you have it in CA. Keep us posted and thank you for all you do. We are grateful. It is probably very hard to focus right now being worried about Walter.
My beloved Gibson slipped out during our coldest, snowiest winter, and he came back six months later, on the day his rabies vaccine was due. He'd been sleeping under a neighbor's shed and hiding in the nearby woods. Don't give up hope and keep searching nearby. They're not like dogs. They don't usually go far. Good luck!
I’d be frantic and upset too but don’t give up hope, you send each of us this message everyday! All of us who deeply appreciate your hard work to keep us energized and engaged are rooting for you and Walter!
Thank you as ever for your helpful insight to our DAILY calls. I call everyday to my rep and sens and they commiserate with me. Most of the items you suggest they tell me people are already calling about so that is good news! We then wish each other a good day and I tell them I'll be calling again tomorrow. Most of the staff know me by name now and don't even need help spelling my last name!
I'm so sorry about your cat!! That's one of my main concerns with our cat and she's 17 years old. They're all so unique and special. I'm keeping hope and light in my heart for Walter.
I forgot to add this hideous bill also includes according to Sen. Patty Murry a BAN on all marketplace insurers from covering abortion care in all 50 states. Not sure if this means even if you are not pregnant but have a runaway period due to too thick uterine lining or a polyp ect whether you're 12 or 90 and need the same damn procedure because it's an UMBRELLA procedure but no care is no care.
Also they want to get rid of ALL of USPS EV's AND their charging stations. The charging stations are already paid for and have little resale value so it's just throwing out public money!!!
I'm so sorry Walter is missing. I volunteer for a pet rescue group in Boulder. Here are some search tips:
First, unless someone saw him escape, check every square inch of your house...cats can get stuck in the smallest spaces! If he escaped, he is likely not far from home, scared and hiding. Place cat bed or blanket on porch, along with some of your smelly clothes. Also leave smelly wet cat food out. Cats often return to the point of escape, so leave that door or window cracked open as much as possible with smelly food leading back inside. If you have a door camera, leave items in line of sight. DO NOT leave litter box outside, this is a myth and may attract predators or aggressive cats.
Go out late tonight and very early in the morning when it's dark and quiet and search with a flashlight and look for cat eyes. When you search, speak in normal tones, DO NOT call out loudly for your cat since this may scare him into deeper cover. DO carry smelly tuna or cat food with you as you search. Search all possible hidey holes outside, behind bushes, drain pipes, under sheds, in garages, etc. look up trees as well. Ask your neighbors if you can search their property. Talk to as many neighbors as you can in a wide circle around your home and ask that they check their cameras regularly for a sighting.
You will need to be consistent and patient in your search until you find him. I hope he's back home very soon.
So sorry about Walter. Don't give up, there are some amazing recapture stories out there.
Hope your cat is found safe and sound. It’s so hard when you don’t know what happened.
Sorry, comment was meant for Jess.

OK thanks, Todd.
Oh thank you I will try that!

Agree, even old cats that don’t see well get around. Cats smell better than we do so I’m hoping his nose guides him back to you.
Wow! That's amazing! Thank you for that and I'm so impressed with your kitty!
Put Walter's Littre box outside. They will sometime return, after catching a wiff of their own litter box scent.
Holding hope that Walter returns. Our pets are such sweet medicine for our souls
Walter, we believe in you and want you to get back home real soon. Your people miss you. And they worry. And right now, they really, really need you.
Stick Walters litter box outside your home. They can smell it up to a mile away and might help him get home. 🙏
Good idea! Will do thanks!

Yes I heard that. Disgusting. We worked so hard to get the USPS to buy those Evs, too.
Oh didn't know that! Always out to get the USPS-fools! I called my rep and sens, again, today about it though.
Jess, so hopeful that Walter will do his nine lives trick and make his way home! Finger crossed and heart good wishes⭐️
I’m so sorry about Walter ☹️ I hope he returns home 🙏
