Hi, all, and happy Thursday! And a very happy Pride month to all of my LGBTQIA+ readers and their loved ones! Pride is a big deal in our house; if it’s one in your house, too, congratulations! I thank my lucky stars every day to have the incredible queer kid that I do, and feel so fortunate to get to understand Pride in a whole new way through their eyes. No one has taught me more, and no one has given me more reason to be hopeful—and determined—about our future.
Hi Jess & All, checking in from CO, and I want to share:
1. ADAM FRISCH is determined to beat Boebert in CO03 and get the votes to kick her out of Congress! He is gaining ground and has the majority of Coloradans behind him. He almost beat her by less than 600 votes in a recount during the last election: let's make sure he beats her this time! We need everyone we can get to support Adam because Boebert and her minions will do their best to use any tactic they can to protect her. Please check out his website: info@adamforcolorado.com
2. CELEBRATE PRIDE! I have 3 grown children, 2 boys and a girl. One is a former Marine, one is a public school teacher, and one is a manager for Nike. Can you guess which 2 of my 3 kids are gay (LGBTQ)? You might be surprised. But that's the point. We ALL have the right to be who we are and love who we want! We should all be respectful, celebrate and be proud of our diverse community. PRIDE!
Jess, apropos of nothing but the heart of everything you are trying to do: a quote from Tom Hanks Harvard University commencement address:
“Every day, every year, and for every graduating class, there is a choice to be made. It’s the same option for all grown-ups, who have to decide to be one of three types of Americans,” Hanks said. “Those who embrace liberty and freedom for all, those who won’t, or those who are indifferent.”
Thank so much for organizing the assets needed to reduce the ranks of the indifferent.
Wow. I keep hearing how fantastic that commencement speech is. Guess I need to take the time to watch the whole thing. That's a great line. And thank you for your kind words.
2 Important Points:

Do we really want to risk sending the FRA back to the House so that they can approve an amended version?
It was a super long shot and it failed. Oh, well.

Jessica,
I called and faxed Senator Schumer. Lines were constantly busy and the faxes did not go through.I am disappointed, to say the least.
I am happy for Pride month, and send love to all!
Sorry you couldn't get through! And happy Pride to you, too!
