I love these honest and energetic calls to action. It occurred to me this morning that the Trump regime is running America like a business. My husband spent years in high-end retail and saw many mergers and acquisitions. He also saw that bigger companies would acquire profitable companies they had no experience with and run them into the ground. That is precisely what this regime is doing to America. They don't want to govern; they want to milk it for all it's worth and put it in their portfolio. They are clueless about how to govern and have no desire to do so. Hands Off! Let's defeat them.

Privatization is a curse, not a gift, to those being privatized.

Bleed them out, maximize the take, and dump what is left.

Yes, he is running the government like a business. It will be bankrupt like literally ALL of his other businesses.

His position in government finally gives him the opportunity to ruin something while still being seen as successful by his cult. We are in REALLY deep sh*t.

Time to Organize time to stop Trump. No waiting anymore. Get organized get ready to fight for your country. The rule of law is over. Whatever Trump says goes. It happened the moment he ignored the supreme court and no one did anything.

Time for Americans to do something about it. Every person and company should stand against this!

The Autistic Self-Advocacy Network is made up of people on the spectrum, advocating for rights and supports for full inclusion. While it’s great when parents speak out on behalf ofi autistic kids, it’s even more important to uplift the voices of autistic people.

While I love the visual aspect of in person protesting, as well as the sense of community and purpose, there is another way to protest and that is by registering comments of proposed rules which are recorded on the Federal Registry. Let’s flood the Registry with comments on the proposed rule F which would reclassify career civil servants as “at-will” employees, stripping them of their civil servant protections. It is scheduled to be published 4/23/25. https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection/2025-06904/improving-performance-accountability-and-responsiveness-in-the-civil-service.

When it is published one should be able to use the Docket ID: OPM-2025-0004 and/or Regulation Identifier Number (RIN): 3206-AO80 to look it up in https://regulations.gov.

The comment period for this regulation is for 30 days.

Tomorrow. I just saw that there is a banner at the top of the regulations.gov page that says regulations.gov will be off-line for site maintenance to perform a cloud migration from Friday, April 25 5 PM EDT through Monday, April 28 8AM EDT. I wonder if that is a DODGE action.

Thank you for the RFK action note ❤️ it's a very scary time to be an autistic person. Autistic mom here, parent to two autistic kids--the latest thing circulating is a report that HHS will be combining data from all sorts of different agencies to make a national list of autistic people 😬😬😬 sounds way too familiar to be comfortable after all of the ableist BS he spewed last week about how autistic people are a drain on society. As I've been saying all week-- whether someone can work or not shouldn't affect their basic rights to food, shelter, healthcare, and happiness. Yes, a lot of what he said about autism and autistic people was also blatantly false (vaccines don't change your neurotype, for one)--AND as we've all been saying for weeks, drawing lines between the "good/productive/compliant ones" and "bad/unproductive/disruptive ones" in any community is a scary, dangerous step to some very dark places.

they're definitely an excellent start and I signed 'em :) I'm just making noise whenever I see the subject come up because it's so dang hard to disentangle the two threads. People's understandable kneejerk response (including mine!) is "well, *I'm* autistic/my friend is autistic/my kid is autistic and s/he can use the toilet, hold a job, etc etc." There was a bit of that in the Resistbots. And so I'm trying to do my part to share that that framing, while pointing to some of the falsehoods in what RFK said, also has some icky ableist stuff in it that's worth examining.

Sen Maggie Hassan of NH had a great statement that feels like it kinda covers the bases: https://www.hassan.senate.gov/news/press-releases/senator-hassan-statement-on-rfk-jrs-comments-on-children-with-autism

Subject: Earth Day Letter

Dear Senator……

Today is Earth Day and I am grieving the likely devastation that my grandchildren will face if we continue hiding from the reality of ongoing climate chaos. Your courageous and vigorous support of a habitable and sustainable planet is critical to their future and the future of all life.

As reported in Inside Climate News there are rumors that the current president soon will sign Executive Orders to undermine nonprofit environmental groups by removing their tax exempt status. This would be an illegal use of the IRS as a political weapon.

Activist Bill McKibben, founder of the climate-focused groups 350.org and Third Act, said the administration is undertaking a greater crime, "trying to stop the energy transition in the midst of the greatest environmental crisis that our species has ever faced."

If the current president issues executive orders hamstringing environmental philanthropies, and continues to freeze already appropriated climate funding and to support vast handouts to the fossil fuel industry, please lead immediate and loud opposition and rally Congress to stand against him.

Thank you.

The only problem with public entities divesting from Tesla is that a massive sell-off will tank the value of a stock that is meant to support the long-term value of the programs involved and doing so might violate the fiduciary responsibilities of the fund managers. It's a tough situation, but a better idea might be using the voting rights if any to call for Musk's removal.

As someone from Oregon with Democratic congresspeople it's often difficult to figure out what message to give them. Here's how I responded to Andrea Salinas from an email about how she's fighting against the Trump administration, with no specifics and then asked for money. Please let me know if you think this type of response is effective: "I am a strong supporter of yours but you need to know that I will be more likely to provide financial support if you can describe a strategy you and the DNC are using to combat the crisis we are in. For example, I think the best way out of this mess is to convince 4 of your Republican colleagues that the destruction caused by this administration will affect them personally (ex. lack of food safety, increased likelihood of a pandemic). I would think that risking re-election is worth it if they can stop the administration from ruining our country. My understanding is that if 4 Congresspeople switch parties the Democrats will have the majority, correct? This seems to me to be our only way out since currently congress is not upholding their oath to protect the Constitution. Another strategy that I think would be effective is paid advertisement on Fox demonstrating the impact of this administration’s actions. For example, a split screen showing the lack of FEMA response (due to funding cuts) in red states recently hit by devastating flooding, contrasting with the cost of Trump’s golf excursions. The impact of tariffs on the American consumer also needs to be highlighted to help Trump supporters see how these policies are currently impacting their lives."

"No one, regardless of party, is going to celebrate unsafe milk. No one is jubilant at a plunging stock market" and yet, according to Gallup, his approval ratings as of 04/01/25 (yes, I know, but that's who they are, at best) was 45 percent. To chip away at his base he'd need to put them -- taking us along for the ride-- through an extended period of deep cuts to Social Security checks, Medicaid and Medicare. And still, they'd blame Biden. My only paper-thin consolation is that I'can't predict the future. Have been wrong too many times
