As a grateful Wisconsinite, I want to thank you for all of the work you have done to help us get out the vote and defeat the GOP. When the returns came in last night I was crying, but tears of joy this time! I look forward to the newsletter every day because it makes me feel like I can make a difference :)

Thank YOU!

I have gotten on multiple phone bank trainings and chickened out because I'm terrified of them for some reason (and I hate predictive dialer technology), but this one seemed too important so I did it! I called some people in Wisconsin! I only talked to one person for more than ten seconds, but she supported Crawford! And she'd never heard of Underly. I like to think I got her to vote for Underly.

Congratulations on not waking up to a new, awful Supreme Court!

Yes, doing phone banks is out of my comfort zone, too, and you did well to get someone to listen for 10 seconds! I've done phone banks where you personally dial the phone numbers! Even I don't pick up the phone for (most) strangers who call. This is why, after 15 hangups on my last phone bank in 2025, I will probably not do phone banks again. I can walk around for an hour holding signs at a protest, but doing phone banks... not so much. Thanks for doing that phone bank!

Another comment. I just left a voicemail at the office of the marketing director of the law firm standing up to Trump/Musk: Keker, Van Nest & Peters. They wrote a letter, published nationally, "Our Law Firm Won't Cave to Trump. Who will join us?" Well, Wilmer Hale joined. However Wilkie Farr & Gallagher (the now former law firm of Doug Emhoff) just caved. So I called Keker to thank them. Yes, they need to hear from citizens like us! Their number, in San Francisco, is 415 391 5400. Wilmer Hale has opened a comment website.

Wisconsin, and particularly birth city, Milwaukee, has brought us our first suuny election results.

Americans are really, really pissed. They want a government that will help them. They want a government they can be proud of. They do not want to be trapped on the Trump/Musk's retribution, inflationary, imperial, ethnic cleansing crazy train.

2026 midterms will be GOP's Armageddon. By then, 70% of voters will be struggling in a failing economy because of GOP policies. Trump has already burned up $4.5 trillion of value in our stock markets. And he keeps pushing new ways to drive us towards bankruptcy while his Treasury Secretary explains that Americans don't want cheap goods from overseas. They are longing for aspirationsl expensive domestic goods. His Secretary of Commerce tells us Americans will understand if they miss one or two months of Social Security payments because Musk is breaking the system to get rid of fraud. Or his Trade Rep Navarro says that cost increases due to new tariffs are really just tax cuts🤯. WOW. Who knew $4000 more for a new car was actually a tax cut.

Everyone!!! Get out to a protest march on April 5. Save America.

Yes, I agree. Americans are pissed and rightfully so. We have a rogue felon POTUS and an unelected ordinary citizen taking a wrecking ball to all that we hold dear. I despise Trump and wouldn't vote for him for dog-catcher but I suspect a lot of those that did vote for him thought he would bring grocery prices down, especially eggs. These people got bitch slapped and again, rightfully so. But NO One voted to invade Greenland, start trade wars with our former friends, align ourselves with Putin and Russia and to defund veterans healthcare. NO One.

I heard just this am, that Florida is forever lost to Democrats, but, I'm with you. Severe cuts to beloved social safety net programs in the next several months means no MAGAts will be able to continue in denial. That FAFO is on it's way FOR them, & Democrats shouldn't give up in those ruby red areas. Bernie & AOC know that.

Gay Valimont lost 01 but she flipped her county ( 4 in the district) for the first time since 1960!

“ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Republican stronghold Escambia County, the westernmost and oldest county in the state of Florida, went blue in a historic flip Tuesday night.

Escambia had not voted for a Democrat for president since John F. Kennedy in 1960, even when its house district was held by a Democrat. Even Joe Biden's 40% share in 2020.”

I was a Fulbright Scholar in Myanmar (teaching at a medical school) at the time of the military coup (2.1.21). Shortly thereafter a time-honored form of protest began: Pot-banging. Done in backyards and at 8PM (dark) for anonymity, it lasted 10 minutes every night, followed by a patriotic song. It created an incredible din in Yangon, a city of 5 million, and sent a powerful message of disapproval to the gov't. Why don't we do it here? It is fun, relatively anonymous, and depends neither on the weather nor wealthy donors. Kids can join in! After 10 minutes, we can all sing a verse of America the Beautiful. Setting one's alarm for a daily reminder at 7:55PM, a wooden spoon and a pot or pan is all it takes. Can relieve tension and pull us together, as well.

But we need a national presence, like you, Jessica, to spread the word. I'm happy to help.

So, if I get a local group banging in Portland, ME and shoot a video, can you get it to Rachel Maddow or AOC/Bernie or whoever might have the clout to advertise it? Or is that even the way to go? I'm 84 but I'm a newbie at this sort of thing.

I also want to thank you for reminding us yesterday to call about the SAVE Act and the HRs attacking the judicial and legal systems. This much of win will inspire a major backlash, so I'm even more grateful (if that's even possible!) for your activist direction!
