I'm pretty pro-Dominion. Not sure what the expectations were, but they blew mine away. We got to see Trust Fund Tuckums dirty digital linens, and the Dominion suit has spawned the Bartiromo producer suit and a shareholder suit. Dominion were the first ones through the breach, and I respect them for that.

Yeah, totally true.

We need to remember that dominion is in fact, a business, and made the best possible settlement for the company. We can’t expect anyone to save us except us. The garden metaphor is beautiful and comes at a season of renewal and hope. And by the way as a psychologist, I highly recommend walking. Movement creates new neural pathways in our brains, and I find it particularly restorative to do move our bodies outside. Thank you, Jessica, for being our fearless leader!

Thank you, Catherine! And that’s just what I do, almost every day!

The Dominion settlement did not give many of us the satisfaction we desired ( more like revenge) it did bring to light with documented proof of the hypocrisy and outright lies of Fox and their leadership. It probably convinced a few more voters about the threat of the Republican Party. It was a single cut in the death by 1000 cuts philosophies of ancient China which states that small single unnoticeable acts over time change things without noticeable objections. We are on the right path.

Love that. Thank you, Stephen.

I agree completely. Fox really is not held accountable at all.

Personally, I would like everyone to file a class action lawsuit against all of the Republican Party members, the Federalist Society, and Trump & Company. I am dead serious!

I'm all for it.

Why can't the public sue Fox for promoting false information?

I'm not sure how that would work, but if anyone figures it out I will root them on!

You made a serious error in your latest missive, Jess. I am not amazing – reading your efforts to the end is a joy, not a punishment.

In fact you are the one who is amazing. I wish that I could do more to help your podcast, but I am a poor Canadian with limited resources and I am living in severe pain with a thankfully rare condition that has me pinned in a wheelchair, and has been doing so since 1992.

I do have a gift with using the English language, however, and if you need an editor, writer or reader, I would be pleased to help out. Keep up the good fight!

BTW, I cannot claim to have dreamed this up, and I can't even remember where I saw it, but I understand that there is a movement afoot to rename Florida into DeSantistan. Given the toxic nature of the relationship between the Governor's office and the Rebooblican Legislature, it would certainly be appropriate.

Have a great day, and enjoy tomorrow!

You are one amazing person to whom everyone living in America should be grateful. I try my best to make the calls, write the postcards, sign the letters. And to remain hopeful I keep reminding myself that what the maga right has done to the Republican Party may hopefully bring us the House and Senate in 24. Then maybe we can rid ourselves of their influence and get rid of Thomas, increase the number of justices on the Court and PASS gun safety regulations.

I enjoy reading each and every Chop Wood, Carry Water posting. It helps me in educating myself, act and feel confident with the verbiage I am sending off to the President, my congresswoman and my Senator--thank you Jess for informing us.

Today's Broadcast with ECM...in it Elizabeth explains the Dominion settlement very well. As a lawyer, she really makes sense to me about the reasons why settlement vs court etc. And it isn't over yet! More suits to come.

Karma works in mysterious ways. The only thing she said (having not read the entire settlement) is the issue of an on air (Fox) acknowledgement .

Love your garden metaphor. And hugs

I too am very disappointed that the dominion monetary penalty was not accompanied by an acknowledgement by FOX that they lied all along...The other question I still have is whether the 3/4 billion can now be deducted by FOX on their corporate income taxes as a business expense so that they also rob the taxpayers at the same time they reap this particular benefit for themselves which would likely mean avoiding paying taxes for a number of years. Is there a way to determine this? I also wonder if Dominion has to pay taxes on their windfall... Thanks for your help and always good work...Annie Peterson

Deductibility depends on who actually lays out the money. If Fox Corporation makes the payment, it's probably deductible but if their insurance companies make the payment, it won't be but the increase in liability premiums will, in the long run, hurt even more than encumbering 20% of their free cash on hand. A bigger hurt will come if/when stockholders and other investors start to sue the executive management and Board members for misfeasance or dereliction of duty as that would put each of them at risk personally.

The residual effect nobody mentions is Fox will be a toxic environment for advertising for many companies.

Thanks for your response... Would FOX at least be forced to pay Dominion attorney fees?

They might be specifically required to do so or it might be part of the $787 million.

Dominion did well just getting a settlement. Accepting a smaller amount means they might get paid. It's always chancey suing from one country to another. I would love to see Donald and his retinue sink into oblivion, but I'll settle for watching him gurgle and flounder in deep waters.
