Thanks so much for highlighting Sister District’s research into down ballot roll-off. The stat that brought it home for me is how Democrats lost control of the state legislature in Virginia the year Youngkin won—-but if everyone who had voted for his losing Democratic opponent had also voted for their state legislator, Democrats would’ve easily maintained state legislative control. (We flipped that back in 2023. Phew!) One reason we focus on phonebanking is to do the work of familiarizing people with who their state legislative candidates are. Say their name over and over. Many people just are not paying attention. But it seems Republicans are much more likely to check all the boxes on their ballot whether they know the candidate or not.
OMG, Jessica!! I am so envious of you getting to meet Amanda Litman!! She is one of my sheroes for all her amazing work getting young people involved in politics and wanting to run for office. An AMAZING woman!!
Please Israel fire back at Iran with an old school pamphlet bombardment point out you could send Weapons Of War Of Destruction to harm Iranian people, but instead plead with them to demand reforms that could open up a life the next generation of Iranians want to live doing commerce with the world. ass WOWOD to our vocabulary. Trump fell asleep because his dementia is progressing. Pleasepleaseplease watch David Pakman's interview with Dr. John Gartner, and read Bill Lueders' article in The Bulwark. People have ignored Trump's serious and persistent mental illness for years, but we cannot just let his dementia slide. A mentally ill Trump has been horrifying; a demented Trump is catastrophic
