In Frankfort, KY this morning a Youth Organized, Youth Led rally was held outside our legislature to oppose one of the worst anti-trans bills in the U.S., SB 150. Our youth gathered, spoke, told their stories, read poetry and supported one another. Our Democratic legislators lent their voices and support and offered words of encouragement. It was SO important for these beautiful young people to be shown SO much love and care. They might be able to legislate bad bills but they can't legislate these beautiful minds and spirits.

What a beautiful note of appreciation, Lee. And there's no better way to thank me than to show up at my phonebank, which you're doing! Better than a hug! Thanks!

I am always amazed how you find new ways to inspire - just love this Amelia Earhart quote. Can’t tell you how much appreciate it bc I know it is a commitment to choose to see things with informed positivity. This is something I try to do as well for my friends and family and it’s not always easy. People would often rather give up bc of course that is easier than to continue to move forward with courage and tenacity. But move forward we must. Many many thanks. ❤️

Giving up is truly the easy way out, although in the end it absolutely isn't. (:

Thank you for today's quote by Amelia Earhart and the similar messages earlier this week. I feel like we are fighting a constant stream of bad news these days. The Nashville shooting and our collective inability to pass an assault weapon ban at the top of the list. But the Idaho bill that would criminalize helping a minor access abortion, the anti-transgender bill passed today and all the other anti-LGBTQ legislation, everything in Florida. I mailed 400 postcards yesterday so I'm not letting the bad news stop me from activism but it's been a rough few weeks and your reminders to keep working are so appreciated.

Oh, man, I'll say. It's been brutal. Even by the standards of the last few years it's been tough. But we MUST keep working. We owe it to the kids being harmed by these bills. And I know that together we can muster the strength to do so.
