Enjoy your vacation in Amsterdam, the tulips should be beginning to blossom. A truly beautiful site to see even for someone like myself who has a black thumb when it comes to gardening.

Yes! Tip Toe Through the Tulips. Enjoy. Enjoy! We'll survive. Plenty to do. You take care of YOU!!

The MSNBC blew up this morning and Xtwit and all Substacks are ablaze with their loss of viewership/advertising$$$ ploy to bring in the MAGAs to get their numbers up as well as normalizing the fake elector/throw the election to Trump plot. MSNBC hired former RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel as a commentator. Serious anger everywhere. I am going to cut and paste some valuable comments from Robert Hubbles post of last night for all here to cogitate on and perhaps send off some zingers to the brass at NBC/MSNBC.

Two from Susan O. Singer on Robert Hubble's "Today's Edition Newsletter" are good to start with :

I just (Finally! Waaay overdue!) subscribed to Today’s Edition just so I could write this comment. I too am shocked and saddened by MS/NBC’s hire of Ronna Romney McDaniel. But as our mantra goes, “action is the antidote to anxiety”. SO let’s all take action and contact the powers that be at MSNBC. Here are their email addresses:

President, MSNBC: Rashida.Jones@nbcuni.com

Chairman, MSNBC: cesar.conde@nbcuni.com

President, NBC: Rebecca.Blumenstein@nbcuni.com

SVP of Politics: carrie.budoff@nbcuni.com

Hiring McDaniel is like rewarding our kids’ bad behavior, but on steroids. They need to hear from us. Let’s GO.

Here's what I wrote to the powers that be, above. If it makes it easier and quicker for you to take action, please feel free to copy/paste/amend my letter so that it reads in YOUR voice.

Dear Ms. Jones, Mr. Conde, Ms. Blumenstein, and Ms. Budoff,

I write to you as a VERY faithful and frequent watcher of MSNBC. Since 2015 I have been an avid follower of politics and although I get my news elsewhere as well, my primary source of news AND analysis is your cable network. I feel like I know so many of your anchors personally because I spend way too much time with them on a daily basis. It's not perfect in terms of a well-rounded life, but I lay all of this out so that you understand where I am coming from...as I write this note to complain in the strongest possible terms about your recent hiring of Ronna Romney McDaniel as a commentator on your network.

As I know you are very well aware, Ms. McDaniel was involved in organizing the fake electors who were put in place in late 2020/early 2021 to STEAL AMERICAN DEMOCRACY from the American people. To overturn the votes of the public and place in power HER chosen candidate. Like it's HER decision to make. It's so outrageous, I can't even believe I am typing these words. She has been a trump sycophant for years now (not that THAT ended well for her). She has lied to the American people on tv repeatedly. Like, over and over again. For years.

She does NOT deserve a platform such as the one you have now given her to spout her lies, and her spin, and her anti-democratic sentiments.

Hiring Ms. McDaniel is like rewarding the bad behavior of a child...but on steroids. If you could read my particular social media feeds and see the amount of deep anger, frustration and sadness that have resulted from your decision to hire this woman, perhaps you'd be moved to FIX THIS. But you can't. So allow me to suggest you strongly reconsider and then invite her to take her anti-American self and get off your air.

I will add that now that CNN has tipped in the direction of Fox News and the entire right wing misinformation media sphere, MSNBC is literally the only place on cable, back here on Earth 1 (as Nicholle Wallace would say), to watch & listen to people who hold the same views I do. We need you to hold that line. Please!

So I beg you. Reconsider this decision. For the sake of American democracy. If you don't, you are contributing to the ruin of it. Not an exaggeration.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

A dab of history for a more restful vacation. Thomas Jefferson talking/writing about George Washington and the Jay Treaty in GW's second term SOUNDS a lot like Trump talking about Joe Biden, EXCEPT for the civility and WHO was doing the talking/writing! The long term wisdom of political policy is not immunity from current criticism. Say hey to any Dutch cousins, two are family physicians. Love, Doc
