Thank you, Jessica! I called my senators and also wrote the Maine legislators; you made it easy. So many important issues, it feels great to take action. On that note, I've been referring others to your newsletter, particularly those who express pessimism and hopelessness about the state of our nation. Individually and together, we can make a difference. ❤️
Thank you, Jessica. I called and wrote my senators about the Fetterman resolution. And on that topic, is it true that Trump is receiving intelligence/security briefings? Of all the people who should not ever
Jerry Weiss from Feathers of Hope reminds us that there is a discharge petition for HR 815, the National Security Supplemental Appropriation, circulating in the House and as of this morning it had 175 signatures with 217 needed to get this bill out of committee despite the pseudo-Speaker's opposition. It's worth a call to our Congresspeople.
Kathy told me about the Florida Catholic Conference and the Governor coming after birth control, specifically the state program for long term injections, presumably depo-provera or similar treatment.
Jessica and John Kelley told about their solar panels and EVs with 100 mile commutes, no commercial fuel or maintenance. I share producing 350 kwh a day, but recently my "buy all" plan with the electric coop cut my pay from 5.25 cents per kwh to 3.5 cents; drop in their "avoidable cost" for wholesale purchase from Duke Energy despite the increase in CEMCO and Duke;s retail is 16.5 cents/kwh. The bureaucracy feeds itself whether in college or corporate or government or hospital, all of them, even the one you work for!!
I posted over the weekend about a postcard campaign for Dem Marilyn Lands who is running in a special election for an AL statehouse race next Tuesday. The postcards were finished yesterday, but I got an emergency appeal for a donation so that she can run an ad about reproductive rights - they are about $2500 short of their goal and time is running out!
I listened from my home in Boulder CO to your talk to Waterfront Indivisible last night. I was not able to stay on for the whole talk because of another political meeting that conflicted. Our local group, Indivisible North Boulder, asked me to report next week on what I learned from the discussion. I will do that. Parts of your talk reinforce rules of thumb we know, and groups that are on a list of effective grassroots organizations we have compiled. You mentioned that the short talk was part of a "101" level "course" or yours. If there are recordings of that material, and perhaps even a "201" version, people in Indivisible North Boulder would be most interested, and I will tell them about it.
Oh--and you're one of those people who can be in more than one place at once, apparently!
I bet our group would be interested, and I will ask. I will likely be asked what the presentation would entail. Is there an easy way for you to give us a sense of that?
It wouldn't entail anything. We set a date and time, I show up on Zoom and give a 45 minute presentation talking about activism / smart giving and then take questions. (: I'm about to leave to go out of town so it would have to be after I get back on April 2nd.

Thank you, Fran-Michelle!
Thank You! I live in Mecklenburg County, so I really appreciate the plug for the SBA phonebanks!
Oh yay! I'm so impressed with the work the Meck Dems are doing!

As the GOP nominee he is now entitled to them by tradition. Not sure they've started yet and not sure how Biden will handle it...

Yes I've been putting it in here and will again today.

I think it woud be sweet justice to elect a pro-choice Dem in AL just after that ridiculous ruling by the AL judge that killed IVF!
Done
Is it too late? When is election day?
next Tuesday - she is still short of her goal by $2500
See today's newsletter!
Thanks for your stalwart, indefatigable work!

I'm happy to do the presentation for them!
