Being from Minnesota, I have to mention our very loved (and left this Earth way too soon), Senator Paul Wellstone, who had many favorite quotes, but in answer to this newsletter, Jessica, this is my favorite - "WE ALL DO BETTER WHEN WE ALL DO BETTER".
Thank you for this Kathleen. I don't live in MN but my mom was born and grew up in Minneapolis, so I keep track of y'all. <3 Thank you for the quote from Senator Wellstone. It deserves a big banner and would be at home in any gathering. Thanks again!
Dr. John, It’s already happened in Florida …several years ago !
“The Florida Catholic Conference and other abortion opponents are praising Gov. Ron DeSantis for vetoing a $2 million allocation to increase access to hormonal long-acting reversible contraception (HLARC) for low-income girls and women.”
Electric car prices are falling so fast that I am regretting a bargain I bought in a pristine gas car for a spare. Electric motors are so much less expensive with greater performance and much greater reliability and less maintenance that internal combustion engines. This is good news for lower tail pipe emissions/pollution. Have a bright spot to look at today. Love, Doc
We did solar shortly after switching from a hybrid to an EV for the 100-mile-a-day commute. We haven't bought a tank of gas in nearly a year, nor have we bought any utility power to charge the car. We've produced 16 MWh so far, equivalent to avoiding putting 11.5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
I'm not bragging - I'm just saying that, really, ANYONE can do this.
Wanted to share this action - the Biden Harris campaign has launched a three part training series for volunteers. I attended the first one about storytelling last week and it was really powerful. It focused on compassionate listening and the power of storytelling, which I think is helpful for anyone connecting with voters for Biden or any candidate. They have the three part series for each battleground state so there's lots of opportunities to sign up: joebiden.com/training.
Jessica, I tried requesting addresses for Marilyn Land's campaign (AL State House) and I get a message that the only campaign is Collier county, FL. I really want to write for Marilyn Land after attending a webinar with Doug Jones about organizing in the South. Do you know how to get those addresses?
As we all know, Jon Tester and Sherrod Brown MUST win for us to keep the Senate. Robert Hubbell is moderating a fundraiser this Monday at 3 pm PST. In keeping with advice from Jessica, Simon, Robert and Michelle, whatever we are doing, we need to do more. This is one of those more moments! $100 minimum to join the event will be split between these two great senators.
Simon is very encouraging about these Senate races even though they are both razor thin. Let's keep the Senate!
Good day, all. Just learned that Red Wine and Blue will be holding a fundraiser for the whole community of Springfield, OH this Sunday at 3 pm PST! I have been hoping for a fund raiser such as this! Red Wine and Blue is powerful and sure to raise a lot of money for a town that deserves the love right now. "Join Springfield parents, students, teachers, business owners, and faith leaders who have been impacted by national politicians threatening the safety of their families and the community they love." See you there!
Not this? The National Association of Realtors has agreed to settle litigation that accused the real estate group of artificially inflating real estate commissions, a move that could dramatically change (and lower) how much consumers pay during real estate transactions. 🪓

Love that. The Democratic motto!

Extra credit is easy with the Climate Action Now app! Thanks, Jess, for introducing me to that, and for everything you do, everyday.
Sure thing! Thank YOU for all you do!
They will take away our birth control. Where to hit every Republican running for office. love, Doc

I agree, as an EV owner. I can't believe how little maintenance they require!

Yes! We have solar, too!

Oh wow this is amazing! Thank you! I will post about it!
I went to joebiden.com/raining and got a donation page instead of a training series.
I had actually used the correct link (joebiden.com/training) and got that donation page. Would love to get a good link! Thanks!
Thanks, Alyssa, Signed up !

Actually, never mind. Just saw on their facebook page that all addresses have been assigned.
I wonder if any other group is writing for her as well. Thanks for posting about the Facebook page. I had the same experience with PtV.
I think that's it--the election is in a few days!

Thank you for this.
Here's one for next week that might fly below the radar: https://prospect.org/justice/2024-03-18-landmark-settlement-breaks-up-real-estate-cartel/
I thought I had that one, no?
I can't find it in 3/17, and it just happened this week, so I think no. But I don't envy you keeping track of all the good news!
