I did not like that Resistbot knew what digits my credit card ended with.

Ummm...not sure how that came up, or how they knew. I've never been asked for my cc number from them...EVER. Are you sure that was Resistbot?

I followed your directions, sent letter, apparently. It would stop asking for a donation each time if I would subscribe.

I wrote to my contact at Resistbot. He said:

"On the first one, like ActBlue, we save credit card info. for easier follow-up donations. Users can request that they be deleted, it’s very rare that anyone cares, but it happens. Most people find it a lot easier to give that way rather than entering their card number over and over again.

On the second one, we ask for a donation at most once a week I think (so if a user is signing lots of petitions during the week they’d only receive one ask to donate) but if the user uses the bot less once a week, sure, that can happen. Very few people donate, it’s a free service for people, and it's a costly service to operate, so I hope our asking for donations is understandable."

The paragraph that is meant for us to call to our representatives has sometimes carried a phrase such as: "if the Senator..." Make sure we use the correct address, either Senator or Congressmember or Representative.

Oh dear. Sorry. Just me doing this newsletter, and sometimes I miss a typo. Thanks for catching it--I'll try to be more careful going forward.

Thanks you, Jessica. I never gave them my credit card info to save. I gave name, email address, residence address only. Yes, they deserve funding.

One senator’s office acknowledged receipt of my message within a few minutes.
