When you call Cong Fitzpatrick’s office to leave a message, press 1 as a constituent. If you press 2, or disconnects you. I called again and passed along the discharge petition message to the young man who answered the phone.

Have a grand trip to Europe and tale care in Paris. The Biden/Harris commercial is great and should be on every Fox News broadcast. Background checks are most readily applied to new gun purchases and hopefully can be applied to all gun transactions. To me, they are crucial; I have a paranoid schizophrenic son, now 61 and living independently who should NEVER have a gun. I personally live out in the country and keep the shotgun under the bed where it has stayed for the 50 years since I stopped quail hunting(shot the limit 8 with 8 shots and quit!) Actually one miss and one double; ate every one; delicious. AI could handle registration of all firearms, even the millions we have in USA.

Thank you for all your hard work and yay to a well deserved vacation!

I live in Paris. Here are some tips. Skip past what you know already.

Paris is a lovely (though sadly quite polluted) city. I do nevertheless enjoy using eBikes to get around. Metro and busses can be too crowded. Lime e-bikes are easy to use with the Lime app or even from within the Uber app. Paris has a ton of bike lanes. Most friends who visit don’t want to try - but some do with my guidance and don’t regret it. Having a personal guide is a must the first time.

It changed my views on municipal transportation and it solved my own prior reluctance to get on any bike after a three level lumbar fusion surgery a few years ago. It also saves me lots of time getting around and helps me avoid crowded transportation (mostly)

Now I’ve bought my own ebike and have been in a car only a handful of times since I arrived 19 months ago! Here’s to recovery. I am 62 and feel younger here!

Whether you want to bike, walk, take a cab or take public transportation, CityMapper is the best app to get all transit options and times. If you prefer public transport over walking in this highly walkable city, it costs 2 euro to buy the Navigo Easy Pass to which you load up ten tickets at a time at a discount. Each time you step on a bus or metro with Navigo it will cost about 1.73 euros (vs 2.15 each if you buy individual tickets). This would be helpful if your hotel is not city center -!to get back and forth. But in town (roughly the lower numbered arrondissements 1-7) walking or biking gives you the best views! The Navigo pass likely won’t be worth it if you are only here a few days. With three people a cab ride may be better.

Do let me know if you want any other tips specific to what you want to experience here.

I would love to meet up with you / to help you get the most out of your trip. I live near the Mouffetard cobblestone pedestrian foodie and shopping street in the 5th… near the Botanical Gardens, the old Roman arena remnants, the Arab World Institute (great exhibits), the student district, the Luxembourg Gardens (where the French Senate resides) and so much more! Many museums are closed on Tuesdays. Check ahead. And no pressure to respond - but I couldn’t help the offer as I have ample time!

Bon Voyage!

That's so kind and what wonderful tips thank you! We are meeting two old friends of my husband in the brief time we are in Paris so not sure how much extra time we'll have but I do want to see those Roman ruins--I'm a big Roman history buff. Will you email me and tell me how to find them? And maybe send me your cell number and I can text you if we find we have time? hijesscraven101@gmail.com

Once again, you pushed one of my buttons. Every time I'm traveling outside of the USA, I relax - not having to worry about gun (or other weapon, for that matter) violence. In Australia last year, our walking tour guide said, "You don't have to keep looking over your shoulder. Very few people are carrying." I hadn't said anything, but he knew! It took me 2 weeks to fully relax. As for France, OUI! I hope you have the most marvelous time - you deserve it.

Yeah every time we go to Canada I feel my body relax in a very specific way. It's a feeling of safety I almost never have in our country. So sad.

Spent a week in China in 1977 in multiple rural and urban locations studying the health care system. Zero fear. 1976 in Bratislava, Czecheslovakia, a soldier with an AK-47 at most street corners at night. Still no fear. None here in central NC small town now. Love, Doc
