“In an article published in the opinion section of The New York Times, opinion columnist Pamela Paul wrote a 4,500-word article filled with factual errors and unfounded assumptions about transgender care and the lived experiences of transgender people. Although the article is presented as a piece on detransitioners, the interviews serve as vehicles through which Paul packages inaccuracies and disinformation with faulty citations and claims that are not supported by the evidence she presents. The article is the latest in a series published by The New York Times to do so, and a simple fact check of the claims presented easily debunks the article's central premises as highly misleading.”
UGH. I just called my Senators. I got VM for the senator who actually supported the bill (Thom Tillis) , but got an aide for my other Senator (Tedd Budd) who is ultra MAGA. I'm afraid I lost it when his aide claimed Budd has "legitimate concerns" about the bill. Yeah right - he's a Donald Trump foot soldier. Besides they killed it before they even had time to read it! I'll try and keep my cool the next time I call.
Thank you very much for the Give Smart event tonight. I can't wait to get the recording so I can share it around. I was very happy to donate to your Giving Circle. The States Project is incredible and such a wonderful community. I'm in many Giving Circles and am now starting one up with people in the Boston area/Swing Blue Alliance so am very excited about that! Such an effective way to make a difference in the upcoming election.
Jessica, I am not able to contact my "representative" - AZ CD2's Eli Crane - because the form on his website will not accept my rural address. I live in an area with no USPS home delivery, and his form will not accept either a P.O. BOX or any variation of my actual physical address. (Funny ... UPS and FedEx can find it just fine). While I'm not a "believer" in conspiracy "theories" I can't help but think that he just doesn't want to hear from his constituents. Both of his two district offices are 4+ hours from where I live. BTW, he doesn't even live in his own district - shouldn't that be illegal and/or disqualifying?
Hi Jess - thank you for making it so easy to call legislators. I'm registered to vote in Idaho (one of a few Democrats) and I just left a message for Crapo using your "I'm furious re the Supplemental Security Bill" with the angle that I couldn't believe Republicans would support Putin. Did not mention the southern border. Also called Risch and "Ben" answered the phone. I gave him my spiel and asked how Risch will be voting on the bill. Ben said, "The senator hasn't released a statement on that bill yet." The Scream emoji. Thanks again, Jeanne
Thank you for keeping the actionable items coming, Jess. It keeps our hope alive and our chins up.
As we said to each other before bed last night, "May karma and cholesterol do their work sooner than later."
Haha I think something along those lines pretty much every day.
This made me laugh out loud. Where Trump is concerned, I think cholesterol is a sure bet.
Jess, Thanks for the Resisbot to President Biden urging him to block Florida’s driver license gender marker ban.
If I may add another link from amazing investigative journalist,Erin Reed.

God. I just can't stand the NYT anymore. I really may have to cancel my subscrition.

Exactly. And thank you. Don't underestimate the power of your calls to make him reconsider.
Keep sharing the message.
Always!

Yes it should! Have you called his office to complain about this? You really should. Also, does Resistbot work?
Yes, my wife called his office and tried to get her/our comment submitted but even his own aide couldn't get it to work. And YES, Resisbot works!

hahaha thank you this is great.
“Supplemental”?
Sorry that's shorthand for the border/Ukraine/Israel etc package.
