Today is the first, of what I hope will be many, economic boycotts demonstrating Americans' displeasure with the ongoing Republican coup. I would like to leverage this form of protest to show Americans' support for Ukraine by working with the boycott organizer or other more prominent opposition organizations (e.g. Indivisible, Move-On.org, Protect Democracy) to organize and promote another economic boycott in March and instead of Americans withholding their money from retailers that have cowered to Trump et al, instead make a donation to Ukraine. 75M Americans supported Kamala Harris. If each supported just $10 toward Ukraine, that could raise $750M.

Step 1: I've reached out to a couple of Substack authors to see whether they know any of the organizers of the national opposition organizations such as Ezra Levin at Indivisible or someone at MoveOn or Protect Democracy. While today's boycott was apparently the idea of "John@thepeoplesunion.com," I've previously emailed him and not received a reply. Same for Ezra Levin, back in 2018 when I was working with Glenn Phillips from Toad the Wet Sprocket to get out the vote. It would be helpful and provide greater credibility for the next boycott to be sponsored by one of these organizations.
