Hey Jess... I always feel guilty when you ask us to call our Congressional rep and I don't ever do it. Well... I have done it once or twice. My rep is none other than Lauren Boebert. I get back actual nasty response so I have stopped communicating. If anyone has suggestions or encouragement, I will welcome them. But this is a person, who I don't believe, has any interest in her constituents, let alone the country.... so I put my energy elsewhere. Thanks for listening.

Hi Kate,

Just a thought in response to your comment above.

Michael Moore, documentary film director and activist, is teaching us it can be very important to illuminate to the general public the truth about your Republican congressperson, especially in districts where that race was won by only a few hundred or a thousand votes.

You wrote you receive nasty responses to your calls to Boebert’s office. That is the perfect thing to let others know about. If you have letters you receive from her you could post copies online on social media. Or if it was the staff person on a phone call, then call again and tape their response to you. The more voters learn about this treatment of hers toward her constituents the more people will not vote for her in the next election.

However, if you are like me, you don’t know how to do what I just suggested. I always ask a younger person, whom I trust, to help me do these things. In my case my son-in-law. With so much of the media controlled by wealthy and/or right wing leaning entities, we need to find ways to bring the truth to voters everywhere and hopefully flip a thousand or so votes in our favor at election time.

Good luck, and thanks for all you are able to do to help our country.

This is such a great response to Kate's comment, Cathleen! It's exactly what an Indivisible group would do. In fact, Kate, it might be worth it to see if there is an Indivisible chapter active in the district--I'm pretty certain there is. Either way, you should do this! Boebert only won by FIVE HUNDRED VOTES! She is vulnerable as heck, and showing others in the district how awful she is to constituents would be powerful. For that matter, send me the recordings and I'll post them on Tiktok. I have a decent following. They'll get around!

Cathleen thank you! I have all but given up with her office. This makes me want to carry on and actually call and leave messages. AND email. Ugh. But I will. I will document all responses. Great idea. I am a very spacious and compassionate person. But her behavior has gone beyond the pale... Thanks for your input.

Apparently, the Postcard to Voters campaign is not beginning for a while, as reported by someone in Robert Hubbell’s substack column today. P2V told her they are waiting a bit before they start writing, apparently to not alert other candidates.

Also, the primary election for this Wisconsin Supreme Court seat takes place on Feb 21st. There are 4 people running. 2 Dems and 2 Repubs. The top 2 vote getters move onto the April 4th election. Our goal is to get both Dems winning the primary election on Feb 21st. And, yes, this is supposed to be a non-partisan race.

So, Jennifer and others, if you hear anything to the contrary, or find out more about postcards, phonebanking, etc., please post it in the comments so Jennifer can tell us all about it.

And if you’d like more info on the candidates or this race read Len’s substack column at

Clarification. The P2V comment I mentioned above was in reply to a query from someone about a Feb 21st election in VA to replace a recently deceased legislator.

However, here is a link to Activate America who also writes postcards to voters. This one for the Wisconsin election. https://www.activateamerica.vote/postcards

And The Civics Center is also writing postcards to young voters for this election.. However, they are focusing only on the April election, and not the primary. There is no guarantee there will be 2 Democratic candidates in the April election, so best to write for the Primary election on Feb 21st.
